Rossman Pond is next to Mallet Pond state forest. Small almost one way gravel road to drive in and easy parking, a short walk to a pond. Has several fire rings and is a really nice spot.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice spot in the woods with a little lake. Looks pretty during fall. Road to the site can be pretty muddy but should be driveable. Coming from north is several miles of narrow gravel with steep grades. From south via Rossmann Valley Rd you only have a short drive on gravel before entering the camp road.
When I was there the private property behind the camping spot had a generator running and was making lots of construction noise. Not sure if that's always going on. I the morning I also had two random dogs visit without collars. They likely belong to those folks too.
we didn't stay here. it looks like a nice spot, but there were Adirondack chairs, a grill, etc., felt like the locals might come back any moment, so we left.
Report Check-Incamped out for 3 days and it's a nice little spot. no hookups but I was able to grab some water from the pond filter it. limited view of the pond from the campsite but easy to get to and can fit three possibly even four trucks.
Report Check-InRoad was a bit sketchy in my skoolie (just because of the steep grade on gravel on a rainy day) but we took the first spot at the turn off and sign for mallet pond and its very peaceful here
Report Check-InQuiet, didn’t see a single other person on this Thursday night. Quite a few bugs though. One bar (enough for calls) but LTE was barely functional or not at all. Nice pond down the short trail.
Report Check-Innice camping area but could only manage to find one fire ring as the road is gated off futher up and has obvious no tresspassing signs. Theres probably enough room for 2 vans to camp but might be a bit close for some people. i had 2 bars of verizon.
Report Check-InGreat dead end road location, walking distance to the pond. I didn’t stay there but it looked peaceful and quiet when I checked it out. Level ground and okay Verizon service
Report Check-InVery quiet, shady woodland spot. Beautiful view of the lake, especially at sunset. The sunshine through the trees was magical. The lake access was a bit flooded, no doubt because of the recent rain storms.
Fire pit and very level spot.
Super weak signal, one bar on and off.
Report Check-InLovely level spot amongst the trees and near a pond. No cars drove by and we didn’t hear anyone. You can see a house across the pond but everything is quiet.
Great fire pit.
The road this spot is on has a sign at the beginning that says “not maintained from Dec - April” so you may need a snow-friendly mobile during the winter months.
nice spot away from it all. gravel road are an easy drive in. Spotty ATT cell coverage at best. no potable water unless you filter from the pond.
