Description

Normally I’m not a fan of paying for camping, since our rig is self-contained. But given the scarcity of any sites, free or paid, in southern Alberta aside from generic RV Parks, this municipal park and campground would be very doable for $15 ($25 serviced). But a solid five stars with the amenities. Full cell service but far enough from the highway that you can barely hear it. Massive modern playground for kids of all ages. Soccer field and volleyball courts. What appears to be about 100 picnic tables, fire pits, multiple covered cooking areas, water and even a bit of shade - a lot but usually there’s none around here. Some google reviews complain about washroom maintenance but they look fine to me, beats squatting in the bush and the site is very clean. Everything you could ask for. And hardly expensive.

A tad expensive for an overnight but needed a rest, shower and charge up. Bow Island is a small town and the lovely park and playground are frequented by locals. Note: the restrooms showers are unlocked 24/7. If you were stealthy I don't think anyone would bother if you used the facility; park on the street beside the park.

Off season rate is $20. Power but no water and comfort station is closed but has pit toilets. Beautiful sunset!!

Pretty decent place. Big park, no privacy though. We are here in off season so it 20$ for power (I think-it’s what I paid anyway). Self registration and takes cash, cheque and e-transfer. No water or bathrooms in off season. Fire pit, garbages and picnic table at sites.

Big gravel parking lot with marked sites. Not a lot of privacy, but fine for what we needed. Had a fire pit, pit and flush toilets & hot showers at the far end of the campground. They provide envelopes for you to fill out a form & leave your $20 cash in the box. There was an on-site host as well. We were content, especially since there were not other options in the area.
