AMAZING and FREE disperses camping sites. You don’t actually have to drive this far out for this particular site, there are many pull offs along happy jack road, just look for a big gravel lot with signs and it’ll show you maps where you can camp. This area is so beautiful and you have so much room to yourself, my dog loved it. Super quiet, only the sounds of nature. Fantastic service for AT&T. Felt super safe. Cannot recommend enough. I will for sure be back to this area.

Pole Mountain Camping Area. Not far from town with gas and a Walmart. Arrived right before sunset and still got a nice spot with several open around us. Lots of people camping nearby but very spaced out camp sites. Camping is limited to established sites but each site has ample space and fire rings. Fires were allowed in the rings. No bear warnings either which is a plus. Really enjoyed a beautiful sunset and a restful nights sleep before traveling to our next stop.

Stayed in Medicine Bow NF in between Cheyenne and Laramie for 2 nights and highly recommend. This pin takes you to the first set of sites off happy Jack road but you can also enter from i80. At both entrances there are maps that show the designated dispersed sites. All have fire rings. I uploaded a pic of the maps. This is an awesome place to camp. Tons of nice spots. Trails to hike. Pit toilets through the NF if needed. T-Mobile reception mostly only in the day use area off i 80 but got AT&T throughout a lot of the NF. Highly recommend.
