One side of the road has restrooms and picnic tables. It says that camping is prohibited.
But on the other side is a large gravel area with no signs. I slept there for 2 nights (from 20:00 to 07:00) without any problems.
Little bit of noise from passing cars and trains. But not too bad and fine for a few nights.

Report Check-In

Had a couple other people here and ran into no issues from 7pm-7am

Around sunset, a fire truck guy pulled up and said I am still in city limits and camping here is prohibited. Appreciated the heads up but seems it is a no-go now. It is a holiday weekend, perhaps they are more lenient during the low season

Report Check-In

Tried to stay but was told to leave by officer that said there is no free camping within the town of golden, and this site is within town limits.

Report Check-In

Tried to stay but was told to leave by officer that said there is no free camping within the town of golden, and this site is within town limits. He asked everyone there to leave and said they’ve been dealing with it more lately. I would say this place is closed.

Report Check-In

Around 9pm we were told by an officer that this area is crown land & overnight camping is now not allowed because of a history of fires being made by other campers. Kicked us & 3 other campers out. Told us to go to the Husky near the highway which we did. I’m sure some nights you can get away with staying here but they do come and kick people out every now and then. If you’re staying in a van or a camper with very little setup, I’d risk staying here bc the worst you’ll get is a warning & asked to leave. A lot quieter than the husky.

Member of the Golden Fire Dept arrived at about 9:15pm and informed us that there is no free camping in Golden. There were 3 vehicles in total and we all packed up and left. While there are no signs, it's clear they don't want us camping here.

Report Check-In

We parked here and were evicted at 10:15 p.m. by a fireman who said no camping in undesignated areas was allowed anywhere in Golden. The reason he gave us was that some people made campfires despite the ban, so they had no choice but to put a stop to it. Another good spot bites the dust...

Report Check-In

This place is open. There are no signs prohibiting camping or overnight parking. Across the road by the lake, camping and overnight parking is clearly prohibited, but in this area the only sign says 'No dumping'. We had a peaceful night here and several other vehicles. No facilities. Free.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights, a few other campers around. It’s quiet and dark! It’s definitely not closed, saw park workers and police drive by and no one told us to leave, also there are no signs saying no camping

Report Check-In

Very good spot, very quiet, I slept so well..

Report Check-In

Large gravel parking lot, across from the lake. There were about 8 vehicles/campers parked here overnight, no problems. The lot is very large and could easily fit lots of big rigs. It's in a bit of a valley so it's nice and secluded from the surrounding area.

Report Check-In

Stayed here so many nights and it's an awesome spot. Really big space for lots of campers. Many other campers stay here and not a problem.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a night rolled into town later and the parking lot had other campers, great place to stay if your travelling through, pretty quite and right across from the lake

Report Check-In

This place is on the other side of the reflection lake parking lot. This is definitely FREE and LEGAL place to stay. Lots of space for any kind of RV or trailer. There is a pit toilet on the other side of the street in the Reflection lake parking. There is a FULL cell coverage here. We stayed here 2 nights. The 1st night there were 3 other RVs here. Great spot if you want to be close to the Golden.
