Rock Formations | Wild Camping

Camped amongst the amazing rock formations. Windy until about 10pm then it settles down. Cold at night though. No amenities. The tours trucks start showing up at around 9am until about 4 pm.

Nice place to camp. Quiet. Saw some other tourist at the end of the day and in the morning after 9.30. We didn’t slept well: extremely strong winds that twirled around the rich formations and let us bounce in our rooftoptent.

Good climbing (just be careful about your protection, it is flaky in places).

Great camping spots. Sheltered from the wind. The tours will come by around 9am-noon, but morning and night will be all yours.

The climbing in this area is a boulder/trad climbers dream. We climbed at valle de rocas 2 all day. The rock was flakey in parts but the boulders extend to the horizon, the routes are literally endless.

We're so excited we would climb here, but it turned out it's a very fragile sandstone and it wasn't safe to climb. It looks very tempting tough :) Spent a night there, a few tours came in the morning.

Really cool spot. Amazing rock formations, panoramic views, and good places to camp. Also has excellent climbing/bouldering on some of the coolest rock around - splitter cracks, pockets, wacos, and all kinds of other crazy textures. Wish I had the trad rack with!

One of the coolest camp sites I have seen on the Panamerican. Great bouldering. Heinous washboard on the road in and out.

Great spot for a camp, but we were to early so we didn't stay. Still nice to have a look around for a few hours.

Amazing spot, no amenities. South of Laguna Vinto. Coolest formations so far. Stellar rock climbing/bouldering.
