Great spot for an overnight. Get a site on the water and you'll be rewarded with a beautiful sunset view.
Report Check-InJust here for an overnight but it was exactly what I needed. Crazy good spot for catching the sunset.
Report Check-InAre there any state parks in Texas that you can’t hear the highway all night??? Like honestly? 3rd state park in Texas I’ve camped at, cus unlike AZ, NM, CO, etc… there isn’t free land to sleep on far away from humans until you get to the beach, so you’re stuck in state parks. But you can hear the highway from them all. And it’s insanely loud. Would be a nice place to camp, but impossible to sleep unless you are a heavy sleeper. Too hot and muggy to close the windows, and too loud to sleep with them open. So far not a fan of Texas camping.
Report Check-InBig state park. Site 73 in Catfish Cove is nice. Deer down to the lake in the evening.
NPR at 90.3.
Report Check-Inwe are parked directly on the lake (site 65 at catfish) with a rain storm about to hit. clean bathrooms and very strong cell. hardly anyone here except for locals fishing (it is a Monday so probably much busier later in the week)
Report Check-InStayed over night on the weekend in early March. Camping books up fast, plan ahead. Verizon LTE ok
Report Check-InLovely place. Not busy in late December if 2020. Came in around 8pm plenty of spots. We were able to put our 6x12 cargo trailer still hitched to our truck in one of the “water only” sites. Didn’t check out the full hook up areas. Site fees are $10 for water only, $20 for electric and $25 for full hook ups PLUS $5 each person. Dogs on leash. Lots of birds and beautiful sunrises. Bathrooms clean. Very pleasant one night stop. Could see this being very fun in summer. - looks like there is great fishing too. Careful for any holes! But you can’t miss them!
Report Check-InNice park (as described below). Wanted to boondock (in my 34’ 5th wheel) but max size, in the water only, tent sites is 24’. The location across from the park is a great alternative, at a very cheap rate, and one can still take advantage of the park.
Report Check-InState park camping on the lake. We were in our 5th wheel, level sites with water, electric and sewer.
Report Check-InNice campground. There were a lot of birds around us and an armadillo! Clean, hot showers!
Report Check-InThere are rv style spots with electricity, but they cost more. Our Ford Transit extended van fit fine in the tent posts though. Water was a Pleasant temperature and one or two trails for walking. Not too busy but it is March during Corona virus scare so wasn't expecting too many people. would be five stars but it could use more trails and better bathrooms.
Report Check-InLoved this place. Plot 64 and others close by (not full hook-up, water only) are right on the waterside. Beautiful, lots of birds and deer too. $10 for the site (plus entrance fee if you don't have a State Parks pass).
Report Check-InNice quiet place $20 for serviced site - $5 entrance per person - after 5 self checkin - gates closed between 10pm-7am - washrooms are not the best and some walk required
