Nice quiet spot near the lock. Nice open grassy area with a couple of picnic tables, barbecue stands and fire pits.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
good to know.
the path from Crosby leads over two bridges to get to this place. vehicles exceeding 5 t are not allowed to pass. in case you still wanna get to this place you would have to drive a detour about 45min to get there.
Report Check-InGreat spot, I learned by talking to the Locks Staff that you can pay to camp on their property in a Tent if you are cycling or paddling.
But they do not permit car camping.
They tolerate discreet camper vans for a night.
I would definitively spend the day here again but would move my Camper across the bridge up the hill ( 200ft) from the lock to be more private and discreet.
