Uganda
Camping is possible with a car in the parking lot. There is also a bar and restaurant with a Nice view. There night watch and we got a key to a room to use the toilet. They asked 15 dollars ppn for camping. Hot shower is possible but it takes a lot of time.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice view and place, outside of the NP. Camping they charge 15 dollar ppn (you will camp downstairs at the parking area). Breakfast 5 dollar ppn, for just eggs, 1 banana and coffee. Hot water shower. Nice place, but to expensive for camping. All the profit they make they give to the cummunity.
Report Check-InLovely, quiet setting and beautiful views from the restaurant. Staff is relaxed and helpful, food is good with fair pricing. Camping still 5 USD pp. We did a nice hike through the forest in the surroundings and there are also other type of hikes you can do (without needing to go into the NP)
Report Check-InWe can confirm previous comments. Nice place. Very nice and helpful people. We went with Joel the manager to the village and had a nice experience. Recommended!!
Report Check-InA lovely little haven in the mountains with loads of birdlife around, mountains and a peaceful stream nearby. As said previously, you camp in the car park ($5 pppn), the ground isn’t the flattest but you can make do. We were given a key to one of the rooms, as it wasn’t busy, in order to shower and use the toilet. The hot water does take a little while to come through the pipes but we always had hot showers. We enjoyed a great three course meal after our hike (27.5K UGX pp). Beautiful view of the mountains from the restaurant.
We went on a hike with one of the guides from Rwenezori NP, Michael Mangeni (+256 750 029 752), he’s an experienced mountaineer who is part of the rescue team for the NP. His interests are plants and birds - he is an excellent guide. We saw 5x endemic birds, Michael also made 1,000m elevation gain and descent much easier as he set the pace. Highly recommend.
Report Check-InNice Community Lodge at the Shores of the Rwenzori Mountains. Beautiful Setting between steep and green Hills. Camping on green Grass at their small Car Park. Car Park is a bit far away from Restaurant and Huts (no Electricity or else). They also opened a Room for us so we could use the good Ablutions, hot Shower in the Morning. Still 5 USD (18.000 UGX) pppn. Don't get confused by the Sign 'Ruboni Community Camp' a few Kilometers down the Road in the Village, the Coordinates are correct. There are a lot of other Options in this Area (Lodges and Camps).
Report Check-InGreat staff. Hot water (give them time to get the fire going). Rwenzori National Park: we did a beautiful day hike, 20km (7hrs) to a crater lake (3000m, bamboo zone) -65USD. Heard there is also a 2-3 day over night week (for those who dont want to do the 7-8 day summit). overnight hikes organise with Rwenzori Mountaineering Club (the huts on the mountain are theirs).
