Tembusha Forest Camp | Established Campground

Perfect stopover on the great north away from the noise of the road. Great amenities and outdoor shower that is a treat. We did not have enough water available, but surely a temporary problem. Highly recommended. We paid $15pp (kids free).

Great campsite, not just for a stopover. We stayed 2 nights, hiked/climbed to the top of the rocks (no signs or official path, lots of fun for the kids), and enjoyed the pool.
Great facilities, roofed kitchen to shelter for the rain (or sun), large private bathroom with bath tub inside shower outside. Great large firepit, lots of firewood included in the price. The guys make a fire for warm water each morning and late afternoon.
They charge USD 15/300 kwatcha pp per night, kids under 12 are free.
Airtel reception on top of the rocks and at the pool.
Nice pool between site 2 and 3, but accessible to anyone.
The phone nr that ends with 445 is the wrong nr (that's actually Lukasa in Lusaka), the nr that ends with 468 is the right one.

We stayed here one night after a long day of truck congestion on T2. It was the perfect quiet place to rest. Spacious private campsites with donkey shower and sink/bath (only bath we saw in Zambia!). Braai area is also quite large. Beautiful walking trails for the morning

The only con my boyfriend wants me to mention is that it was a bit hard to find a level place to park for our rooftop tent. I’m not finicky about this but he wants it mentioned since he spent 30 minutes repositioning the car trying to make it flat 😂

We showed up unannounced at 11pm and the guard was there to greet us and gave us firewood (for free) as well as lit the donkey

Best campsite ever in all Zambia. Private campsite with grass and large tree.

Private ablutions, cleans and well maintened. Outdoor kitchen. No electricity.

Security guards make fire for cooking and for your bath.

Quiet, peaceful. Definitely recommended on your way to crossing Zambia.

What a super place! Tranquil and beautiful set amongst the trees and owned by a really lovely friendly family. Each campsite is large with its own private bathroom heated by donkey boiler including a bath and gorgeous open air shower. There is a raised fire pit and very nice braii and kitchen area for cooking and preparing. lots of forest trails to explore. A very relaxing place and we would highly recommend it! 30 dollars per night for 2 people.

To the reviews already mentioned a gem. Sitting on top of the hill watching the sun come up. A very special place well maintained and the showers are unbeatable. Plenty firewood to use. No power and no camp lights. Do phone the owner for reservations as ampsiyes are limited and you do need a key for the ablutions. Rob and Gem need to organise ahead. A site built with passion

As always, a lovely place run by beautiful people, a spot to relax and refresh your soul.
We called very late, but nonetheless the donkey was heated up, we had hot water for the outdoor shower and another fire was light at the boma.

wow....wow.....wow..... fantastic stopover, brilliant setting, great sites (very private) Best shower in Zambia...... donkey with extreme pressure. Fantastic staff and the night watchman lit my donkey at 5am for an early departure. I will definitely be back, but for more than a night..... fantastic stay.... well done guys

We had a comfy pleasant 2 night stay here. The campsite is not a scenic one but it's perfect if you want to have a break and just chill around having your private ablutions with hot water 24h. We went for a walk along the car tracks which were pleasant but it would be nice to have some marked hikes. Very kind owner. No MTN network at all. Paid 15 USD ppn.

Really pleasant and quiet place. USD 15pppn. We were there with 4 pax, one rooftop tent and one ground tent. Lots of space for us all to be together, but private. There are only 3 camping sites. They are all adjacent to rocky outcrops, very attractive. Site #2 has a small plunge pool on the top of the rocks.

Very nice campsite with own ablutions on every site, and a roofed cooking area with braai place. Hot donkey shower, bathtub and firepit. Staff will light fires for you. 3 campsites atm (4th maybe coming?). Very friendly owner. The plunge pool on top of a hill had great views, a table and a firepit, perfect for sundowners. Quiet place in the bush on a farm. Highly recommended. Paid 250 kwacha/pppn. I wish we would’ve had time to stay for 2 nights. Call or send Whatsapp before your arrival to make sure availability.

three individual sites, each with flush toilet, hand basin and bath with hot and cold water. Also an "under the stars" hot and cold serviced shower. A covered kitchen with wash up double sinks and braai within work surfaces. A conveniently placed fire pit. The sites share a plunge pool cleverly placed on top of a huge rock outcrop with a good view. A very quiet spot with each site nestled amongst huge granite outcrops.

Definitely a hidden gem and well worth a stop. Private ablution with an indoor bath and outdoor open air shower. Each campsite is private with a roofed cooking area, a paved fire pit and bench table. Wood provided and donkey boiler for hot water organised by an attendant. 15USDpppn.

The campsites are located not too far from each other alongside a rock on top of which you can find the small pool. Nice and shady during the hot season, roofed "kitchen" area with space to sit during the rains.
A beautiful tranquil place if you're alone. Will surely become popular during week-ends and holidays.

Hidden Gem!

Approx. 10km from main road, on good gravel. Stop at one of the farm houses just before the campsites (on the left) to check in.

There are only 3 campsites, so phone ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

Each site has its own fire pit, outdoor kitchen and private ablutions with warm water (wood-fired geyser). Outdoor shower, indoor bath. Wood is supplied in abundance and free of charge.

There is no electricity at the camp. Weak 3G signal is available at some places.

Communal pool is a short walk from the camps on top of a small rocky outcrop, with a great view.

What a beautiful campsite. It is so we thought out and laid out! A bathroom with a toilet and bath!!! Outside there is a shower. A kitchen area with braai and sinks and another seperate fire pit complete the picture. There are three sites which a very seperate and private. Go here!!!

New campsite in the forest 10km from the main road. Nice spacious campsites with private ablution, it has an outdoor shower and even a bathtub inside. You also have your own braai and dishwashing area and a fire place. On top of the hill behind the campsites there is even a small pool! We did a short hike up to a hilltop to watch the nice view, recommend!
