MODERATOR NOTE: Likely only tent camping possible
It's really hard to find a hidden spot to pitch a tent around Chamonix as all the woodland has many paths running through and there are so many people around. The best place I could find was this one, tucked away in the trees. Not very far from the path, but as long as your tent is a fairly well camouflaged colour (green being ideal) you're pretty much invisible. Only space for one small tent here though, and it's pretty tight.
