Description

Huge parking area. Two bathroom blocks, picnic shelters and dog walking area. We parked up in the top end on the gravel and had a quiet dark night. Decent cell reception.

Latest Check-Ins

This rest area exceeded my expectations on this loney road. The bathrooms were clean, stocked, heated, and had hot water. It is also well lit.

Report Check-In

Quiet Christmas night. Decent heated restrooms, plenty of parking. Minimal road noise until after dawn. Two trains passed with low noise levels.

Report Check-In

Came here as a last resort, many truckers and a few rvs and car campers, trash bins were extremely full so dont expect to be able to throw anything away. Somewhat loud at night as trucks were idling throughout the night, which is to be expected.

Report Check-In

This place is sandwiched between the highway and train tracks, plus trucks blast into the parking lot off the highway and there are a lot of birds. We stopped here to make dinner in the van and quickly opted not to stay the night because of all the noise. Overall clean bathroom facilities with running water, picnic shelters and decent sized parking lot. Decent place to stop, but wouldn’t sleep here unless we were desperate.

Report Check-In

Bathrooms inside were well maintained but the swallows have taken over this rest area and swoop at anyone trying to enter facilities or use the picnic areas. My pups even got swooped at. We moved our van farther into the trucking parking and had no problems all night. Would return even with birdzillas!

Report Check-In

Nice area, as described! Clean restrooms, picnic area, big area to park and nice view of the volcano. Free. There is a sign saying you’re not allowed to stay more then 24h.

Report Check-In

Just as others have said. Plenty of room for any sized rig. Good Verizon reception too. Pretty noisy throughout the whole night but that is to be expected. Cute little gazebos all around perfect to do some yoga in!

Very large rest area with sprawling views to the east and west. Wonderful place to boondock. Clean bathrooms, no vending machines, enough cell service to stream any movie site. Ideal connection point between TX and CO.
