Something not right?

Description

If you're late coming through the ollague border from Bolivia or want a place to stay to get up there earlier this local campsite does the job. It's in a ravine so no wind nor early morning sun. 2,500 Clp per person. We had supper in the little restaurant for 2,500 each. This place saved us at 9.30pm as we were exhausted and couldn't face going any further. Cabins also available. Only downside is the animal noise.

Latest Check-Ins

Basic but okay. Pool was empty and rooms were used for road workers. Restaurant looked good, did not use it. Banos and cold shower ok.
5000 pesos pp. Friendly dogs at site.
Good paved road from Chiuchiu. Small though.
We are 2.25m wide, was fine.

I don't think it's a campsite anymore. But we could stay in theire yard behind the restaurant. There a some tables, chairs, baños, shower (cold), bbq's, palapa's and a sink where you can do the dishes. The swimming pool had not water, but they told us immediately. The restaurant looks good, we didn't eat there though because we can cook in our camper. It was definitely good for one night.
5.000 pp

Pretty basic but nice. If you are looking for a budget place near the border this is a good choice. 3000CLP for 1 person one night in a van.

In a little oasis, situation very good. 3000$ for a night 1pp, 1 tent. After it’s like nothing, cold shower works, but bathroom smell really bad.

We paid 12000 pesos for 2 nights (2 persons and a car). The scenic road is asphalted. Bbq and shaded tables. Shower cold or 1000 pesos for a hot one.

3 persons in big rig. 7500 pesos

Yes excellent place. We sat out a two-day dust storm here, very well sheltered. Highly recommended, as is the drive from here via Caspana and the 4400 meter Pass to San Pedro de Atacama.

Report Check-In

Good campground sheltered in a canyon. Some noise from a small nearby waterfall.

3000 pesos for camping. 500 pesos for hot shower. 4000 pesos for a simple but good meal (soup, rice, meat) .

Before driving down in the canyon, remember to take a view/photo of the canyon from the desert plane. Green and Beautiful :)
