We had a very windy night! At night no traffic.
No Claro Signal ;(

Just passing by, I added new pics of the place. Good for any vehicle. Slow 3g with Entel.

Nice place to camp, stayed here for a night without any problem. Except there was a fresh poo near my tent....

Report Check-In

Did an emergency camp here, but can not recommend this place for tent campers. For Vans etc. it might be fine, two Copec trucks also stayed here overnight. But I didn't see good places to pitch a tent, however it is possible if necessary. Indeed access to the river at the end of the path.

Great place to cook, chill or even sleep, is not flat but if you have something to level your rig you are ok.

I went to cook because in the town there ir no place to cook outside.

Still no one, really good place. No sounds after 10pm and in the morning 9am.

Report Check-In

We stayed here one night. Pretty view of the lake and a river but close to the road and lots of trash. Cars were consistent until 10 PM and started early the next morning.

Nos salvó este pequeño spot después de una larga ruta desde Puerto Yungay dirección a Puerto Tranquilo. Al lado de la ruta, protegido y con una vista increíble para tomarse un cafecito en la mañana :)

Report Check-In

Good enough for an emergency stop, there are a few decently wind-protected tent sites. We stayed one night and also cleaned up all the trash. Please keep it so :)

Report Check-In

really just next to the road, fresh water available, smaller tents (1 ps) fit on the more protected path towards the small river

Report Check-In

ok spot, walked up the little path as suggested. can still see cars but they don't notice tents. there is access to the river. walk right to the end of the camping area, there is a little path that goes around the gabion walls and down to the river. fast moving water so probably fine to drink - we didn't try it though

Report Check-In

Tent campers can walk/ride up the little footpath at the end of the pull off and camp up there away from the dust. Downside is a lot of landmines(toilet paper) up there.

Report Check-In

This is truly just a spot off the road. There is no protection from the wind or road.

At 9pm a guy stepped out of his pickup truck and we asked him if we could camp here. He said it was totally ok, there are no "robos" here. He then returned back from his truck with a big smile on his face and a handgun, which at first look we thought was real...scared the hell out of us. Then we realized it was plastic. We're pretty sure he was drunk. It was a safe place to stay.
