For a quick overnight in this area and if you don't want to camp at the Boysen State Park campgrounds this is a nice spot! No one around and easy on and off the highway. Good road for all vehicles. Numerous songbirds as a small canal filling a nearby water tank draws them for water. Interesting rocks. Would be hot in summer but spring and fall it's perfect!

Amazing solitude. Great LTE signal. Easy road in with my Promaster van.
Report Check-Inas described, great spot to camp and though I was worried about the roads since it was raining hard when I drove in, they were very well maintained and it was no trouble at all to get here, find a flat spot and camp. excellent Verizon service too. only spent one night but it was a quite one.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot!!!
Just us, absolutely no car even drove by. Granted we came on a super hot day (90 degrees) it actually wasnt too bad with the breeze, especially once some clouds came it felt so nice.
Also 3-4 bars vz service!
Only problem was all the mosquitoes that came out once it got cooler
Expansive views, open desert. Far away road noise and a handful of cars passed by.
There's another spot if you take the Y from the gravel road onto the dirt road just a little further back on the left. That one even has a fire ring but is more isloated.
Terrific LTE signal tmobile.
Pretty desolate place in the badlands but still very cool spot to camp! The dirt road in is in such good condition you can rip at 60mph and have a little fun! If you continue past these coordinates you will end up at a little pond where cattle like to get a drink and can camp out there as well. If you continue on the Birdseye Rd then to Copper Mountain Rd there are a few 2 track dirt "roads" that you can camp off of. If you go further than this camp spot I would recommend high clearance and possibly 4X4, the "roads" get a little sketchy as they are mainly ATV roads. If you follow Birdeye Rd then turn onto Copper Mountain Rd, drive up the road a little and there will be a 2 track on your right that goes straight up a hill towards power lines and offers incredible views and an amazing place to camp(pictures of my truck on this hill). Have fun out here and explore! Also full Verizon service in whatever spot you choose to camp, I explored every inch of this area.
Report Check-Inthere was a pile of rocks on the side of the dirt road guiding me in. then there was a totem pole of sorts marking the campsite. the area surrounding the campsite is a wasteland, there are badlands to the South, scrub brush and sage all surrounding me and windy. but so far so good.
