Report Check-InThe coordinates for this listing is for Empire Trailhead Parking lot. There is already a Bonanza Flat Big Lot listing that has the right coordinates.
We did stay at the Empire Trailhead lot for one night on August 14th, 2021. Small lot and it does have a pit toilet.
Report Check-InThis is actually Empire Pass trailhead. It’s very small and quite busy. Bonanza Flat just west is much larger and better for overnighting.
Report Check-InPulled in here at 21:45 and found the parking lot full. There had been a wedding up here at the pretty spot!
Report Check-Inneeded a place to sleep for the evening and this is one spot that does not disappoint. the view from the lot are amazing. it does get a little bit windy at night.
Report Check-InGreat open space for many vans on the epic ride up the winding road. Cooler temps at 9000ft and the wind can be stronger. (Nice in the summer)
Report Check-InSlept in the car one night here. So windy but really nice views! A couple other campers with us in the parking lot for the night. Lots of people came in the morning to hike etc so we skedaddled quick and early. 🤪
Report Check-Inclosed for the winter however there is a small parking alcove at the top of the mountain where Grizzwald the bear and I cuddled in the cold for the night
Report Check-InGreat spot to stay! The small parking lot right at the top of the pass gets filled up super quick and there isn’t much room. I stayed at the larger lot just down the road a bit if your heading away from Park City. Quiet, super nice clean bathrooms (pit toilets). Great view too. No signs that say no overnight parking.
Report Check-InBeautiful drive and nice views. Road is fully paved. This stop has plenty of room, although busy with cyclist during the day. Clean pit toilets, trash cans, picnic tables, and even with the traffic was quiet. No "no parking/camping" signs. I came up from Park City and there is one more spot about a half mile or so past this one. After that it's either cyclist/hiker drop-off only or no parking/stopping for quite a while as you go back down the other side. Be safe. Saw a motorcycle on its side and the rider was just lucky that he didn't end up over the ridge. Take the speed limits and grade signs seriously. (Ram Promaster 2500)
Report Check-InPerfect spot at the top of the mountain with beautiful views and access to biking/hiking trails. Outdoor restroom available. Very busy until almost sunset with hikers and bikers, but clears up after.
Report Check-InDefinitely worth it. The views are cool and you get reception on both AT&T and Verizon. The place was PACKED during the day but at night all of the bikers clear out and you can stay overnight in your van. If you get there before dusk, don’t expect to find a spot. Also, drive carefully on the way up and down. The mountain. We saw an accident with a motorcyclist and it wasn’t pretty. Down the road there is another parking lot but there are no camping signs there.
Report Check-InA bit busy with mountain bikers about a half mile down the road there in another parking lot with good views and pit toilets also
Report Check-InNice spot up above park city and next to mountain biking trails nobody bothered us the 2 nights
