Something not right?

Description

Great place by the lake, easy to access from Victoria Gold Road, turn right at about km 6, the second dirt road on the right. The place is in a recent wildfire site, but green undergrowth coming back. At least 3 spots.
Good cell phone reception. Nice warm lake to swim.

Latest Check-Ins

great spot. pretty far on dirt bumpy roads but 100% doable. Very cool look with all the burnt forest and Lakeview. Entrance to water is gunky gunky don't know if I would swim there but great to launch a Canoe. Very private and low mosquitoes

Report Check-In

The 6 km access road is radio controlled. Drivers are to announce their vehicle’s stature, direction & position every kilometre on LADD Channel 1 ("light up 3" would do well to pull over and give way to "heavy down 4"). A significant gold mine is located some distance up this road. Occasional wide-load commercial traffic can be encountered.
Backroad Mapbooks Canada on Gaia GPS labels the access road "South McQuesten RD". The campsite is about half a kilometre down a dirt track from this road.
While it may be possible to fit two or three camps here, my sense is that there is one primary campsite. If someone was already camped here when I arrived, I would likely choose to camp elsewhere. It could be a decent campsite for a small group of vehicles with people travelling together though.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night together with another van. We didn’t checked the photos before and expected it less burnt. Or maybe there were another fire last year. Looked really fresh burnt. We really like it, it had a special beauty - especially because the nature started to get green again.
