Description

We got here following the good dirt road. No high clearance, easy for 2WD. It's grassy land with some bushes and trees. You here the Interstate and also the train but far away and not very loud. Had a calm night, nobody disturbed us. There were some other tent and Van Campers around. Beautiful view to the grassy green hills around. Was very rainy and cold at this two days but the road is not getting muddy. In the hills around it was snowing.
Very good cell service with T-mobile.
Very clean place. Great Verizon service as well. The pullout is flat for a long van or camper. Road is bumpy, just an issue of you have a sleeping baby.

dispersed camping. very nice for all sizes rigs. great cell service 1 mile off of the main road. pothole ridden dirt road but good for all vehicles.

Report Check-In

Plenty of space for bigger rigs, fairly quiet, road is a bit rough but not impassable

Report Check-In

Legit free camping . Highway noise . Will come here again. ATt only 1 bar

Perfect free spot and the views are great. Stayed two nights. Good internet. Gravel road in has some bigger potholes but more than easy enough to navigate in 2wd. Our spot was level and long. Handful of other campers were there as well.. van, RVs, car and 5th wheel. Cop drove through quickly one afternoon checking things out.

Great location. Heard it was an old state park. About 1 mile of gravel road off of east Merrill rd. A few pot holes but we made it with no problem towing our 22 ft trailer with little clearance. About 10 sites but fully exposed to the sun no shade and no toilets. Pack in pack out.
Overall a beautiful spot with amazing view of the hills nearby. Would highly recommend.

Report Check-In

Fine location to crash for a night, but it has a really weird and creepy vibe. Unrelated to the vibe, there were a ton of people here and the interstate nearby is pretty loud. I came in kind of late (11:30 pm) and all the spots were full. I was the 4th person to need to park on the grass.

Report Check-In

Nice spot next to the highway. Beautiful scenery and easy access in our B+ rv and mini van. Lucky to get a nice level spot.

Report Check-In

good spot easy access and decent road. about 8 other campers when we arrived

Report Check-In

Large size area with sites spread out. Cows free ranging in the area and saw rattlesnake skin, so be mindful for your pups!

If you camp on BLM land frequently, don't expect this place to be the isolated, free seclusion you're used to. This is an abandoned state park campground. There are established campsites, and it's very busy.

It's completely full on a Tuesday. I'm lucky to have got here when I did.

Despite it feeling crowded (to me) and right next to i15, it's really peaceful and quiet.

If you generally prefer established campsites with others around, you'll love this place. It's beautiful and serene. If you're a boondocker looking for a secluded place to set up camp, I wouldn't plan a long stay here.

Other notes: +REALLY easy to get to. +Totally free. +Be a good person.

Great little spot to stop over for a night.

Beautiful spot and easy to get to. Stayed one night. Other campers around. Some traffic noise as mentioned, including engine brakes, but didn’t wake up in the night because of it. I would stay here again.

A couple of other trailers after parked here. Little to no shade. The road in is not that bad, a few small potholes and some washboard but completely dry. there is some road noise as it is close to the highway but I've stayed at quite a few Walmarts that were much louder. 3 bars of Verizon, no facilities. The 'road' past the old campground is in terrible shape, lots of mud and large ruts.

Great spot - probably about 15 pullouts. Near highway but not too noisy. Easy road for 2wd. Decent cell service. Please keep this place clean and free - thank you

Report Check-In

Access is currently blocked by a snow bank and about 2 feet of snow beyond.

Great backup for Goodenough, which was full on a random Tuesday in October. Few other campers, road noise for sure, but privacy was good.

Report Check-In

Right off the highway so a bit of highway noise but that’s no issue for us in a van. Around 10 spots mostly all in one loop. You still get a decent amount of privacy and space between each other. No shade so hot days can be harder in this spot. Good AT&T service.

Report Check-In

Excellent location! Beautiful views, level spots, and fire rings.

Had great T-Mobile and AT&T service (enough to work)!

Old campground. Open grassy area with gravel sites. No amenities. Nice view of mountains. Petroglyphs. Good signal. Some interstate noise. 2 others here on a Wednesday. Ok place for the night.

"Fantastic site.
Easy access with a 35ft/12'9"" RV. At the end of a nice wide and flat gravel road.
Superb sunset and wake up with the birds.
Several separate spots with fire pits around a large loop. We chose the last one at the end of the loop. We were alone. "

Fantastique Site.

Flying J and Taco Time are Hwy 15 and 30 Intersection, less than 2 miles from campsites.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous spot in the Marsh Valley. our Promaster van had no trouble getting in, level campsite, a few mosquitoes, light traffic noise from nearby Hwy 15. Beautiful birds, wild flowers, and mountains. No facilities, was an old state park, now BLM.

We stopped and stayed one night here after a long days drive and loved this spot. Its the perfect stop around this area for a good nights sleep and where you wont be bothered. We got in really late so we were pleasantly surprised to wake up to such a beautiful view in the morning of the surrounding mountains. The road in is slow going but worth it to get to this spot that is actually decently far from the highway and we slept great (other than the crazy thunderstorm, lightning and rain that woke us up). Some of the lightning was coming down pretty close so we were happy to have the couple of trees next to us at this spot that also make it feel more private. Only saw two other vehicles out here. All in all, we would stay here again for sure.

This is a decent spot for an overnight. I’m not sure what the other reviewers are talking about when they said they couldn’t hear the interstate noise or barely could hear it. Maybe they’re hard of hearing? It is VERY noisy from the interstate. Earplugs are a must. The road in is bumpy, but doable by any vehicle. Past this spot is one more spot. After that, the road turns into mush, and you shouldn’t attempt it currently.

Report Check-In

Great quick campsite off the highway, but free of highway or train noise. The road is bumpy with pot holes, not a big deal unless you have a sleeping baby like we did. The pullout is perfectly flat for our sprinter van.

Only dared going to the first spot because the roads were so bad. Huge potholes. Also no shade and super hot. Not our fav but could do a night. We left and went to another, oh well.

i dont think it is a state park any longer. entrance to area states it is blm road. other than slight noise from adjacent highway, it is clean and tranquil. spent one night. not fire rings.
