Türkiye
Decent hotel in Silopi. Ideal if you want to cross the border or just crossed it. Things can be a little dated, but it's all doable. Prices around 20/30 euro a night for a double room, depending on time of year and your own negotiation skills. You can pay in Lira, but probably also Dollars. You can pay by card as well. If you leave the hotel and walk 50meters to the left, you will find the BIM supermarket.
Car parking isn't secured (only camera's). But it felt safe enough. We stayed here 2 nights in February and 2 nights in June.
Staff doesn't speak a lot of English, but will use Google Translate if needed and are really friendly.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We cross the iraqi border to turkey over night. This hotel cost to me 65$ for 2 people with breackfast .
Very good room, clean and big, public parking with camera, they told me here is safe.
One person speak english. I think here was Rebuilding.
Large 4-star hotel. Enquired for a single room and was quoted 1500 lira (52 EUR). Todays receptionist spoke no English and wasn’t very helpful. I didn’t stay.
Report Check-In1000TL for two people including breakfast. A bit much for us, so we didn’t stay. Looks nice.
Report Check-InPayed 18€ today for 1 person 1 night. Receptionist spoke english well. Hotel has its own parking lot but as former Overlander said: It‘s not secured parking (but still better than parking on the street).
Close to the city center where you can get everything.
