Description

National forest road 64G has easily accessed sites in the first part and more sites after the road gets rougher past the open site on the left. ATT was good with booster.

Latest Check-Ins

Camped at the location nearest to the road, a big open area that’s quite level; picked up a little trash on our walk in the forest. Lovely place, minimal traffic noise.

Happy to report this is a fantastic spot, easy to get to. Just a few holes to navigate. Could be muddy with rain though. Several spots. We made it in our 25 foot class C towing a Subaru just fine. I forgot to get a picture of our campsite but this rock overlooks the camp sites and is about half a mile walk in from the camping spots. Stunning spot. Very limited VZ service, pretty much nonexistent but maybe weboost could get it done. @explore_RLT

Off Hyw 64 in Carson National Forest Lovely forest with meadows with grassy flat areas for rigs big and small. Some fire rings. 2 bars of LTE. Would have stayed longer if we could.

Report Check-In

nice views about a mile in., road goes to two track past the open area and gets slick if it rains. Verizon has 4g and one bar

Report Check-In

Area was closed. Carson NF banning camping from May 22 to July 11ish, 2022 due to increased fire risk.

Report Check-In

This is one of the best wild camping locations we’ve found. Since the previous posts were 2020, we wanted to confirm the details. There are many well spaced, fairly level locations. About 1/4 mile in the road has some deep ruts that are passable but it would be slow going. If you go that far take the right fork to continue. The road to the left is closed and gated. Fair AT&T signal.
There were elk waiting to greet us when we arrived.
