Latest Check-Ins

The actual site is a little farther west than shown. Go to exit 159, Tower Road. Then turn down towards the river. You’ll cross railroad tracks and enter a hat that states it’s legal to enter. (Bird hunting location, I guess). It was completely empty and I was able to get a long way away from the trains. Wonderful spot. Cell reception…isolation…great. It does look like it might be difficult to drive around when it’s really wet. I tried resetting the coordinates…hope that helps.

Report Check-In

The coordinate are incorrect. We did find the location just off the exit of the highway. It's not a good location. Would not recommend

Report Check-In

Can't get anywhere near the river. Signs are posted saying "No Vehicles". Could still camp in the exposed area by the train tracks but I was hoping to be closer to the water.

Report Check-In

signs posted along the road following the railroad tracks saying no vehicles pass this point. so we were unable to get close to the river. we follow the fence line to the right to where the road ends and were able to stay close to the Little pond. cell phone signal was fine. verizon. dusty and three or four trains came by overnight. highway noise is just White noise. I may stay here again if passing through.

Report Check-In

good spot for a quick stop. signs along the road paralleling the railroad track saying no vehicle past this point so we were unable to get close to the river. followed the road along the fence to the right til the end and stayed near the little pond. three or four trains were not disturbing. traffic was just white noise. across the highway from Love's. might stay here again. dusty.

Report Check-In

stopped here on our way through. there are signs up all along the dirt road that runs along the railroad tracks that say no vehicles pass this point so we weren't able to stay right down on the water. we followed the fence line along the river tracks to the right to where the road ends and were able to park not too far from the little Lake. three or four trains went by overnight but weren't disturbing to us. the highway noise is just kind of white noise. pretty dusty out here. not bad for a one night stop, might stay here again if I was passing through.

Report Check-In

There was a sign up to keep vehicles from accessing the spot right at the river - looked like it might get pretty washed out and muddy when it rains down there. Great spot to spend the night. Was able to follow the fence toward the river so I wasn't right next to the train tracks - barely noticed them (2 went by at night). Place was empty when I came in at 7pm, was awoken by hunters passing my vehicle at 5am. There were about 8 other trucks that had shown up overnight to hunt, parked along the road back to the tracks. Not a big deal just a heads up during hunting season. Convenient truck stop across the highway for topping off / supplies in the AM.

Report Check-In

This location was awesome. We drove straight toward the river after crossing the train tracks instead of setting up by the lake. We were feet from the river all by ourselves (besides the waterfowl). It’s under fish and wildlife management and was free. We give it 4.5 stars for primitive camping, as the trains went by several times at night. Dry camping, no facilities etc. Views were amazing!
