Description

New campsite just before the entrance of North Luangwa NP.
Beautiful spot on the Mwaleshi River.
The campsite and the self-catering tents have an outdoor shower.

Price for camping is $10 pppn and $25pppn for the self-catering tents (access to a fully equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, gas stove etc.)

The road to the camp is in good condition, it took us around 1,5 hour to get from the Great North Road to the camp.

Very friendly caretaker Shadrick

Stayed at this beautiful campsite for two nights. They moved us from the campsite to one of the chalets where we could camp and use the chalet bathroom as they had a big group coming to the campsite. The staff were super nice and helpful. You can swim in the river which was so nice .

We arrived after a stunning drive through N Luangwa NP (spotted Wild Dogs en route) & had a look at the tents & decided to stay for 2 nights. What a treat. We swam in the river and cleaned our Cruiser with help from Michael & Emmanuel & had some washing done and just felt like we were in the lap of luxury. The communal kitchen is fully equipped and the guys wash the dishes in the kitchen . It’s well worth the extra dollars . Sitting on the veranda listening to the birds and watching the river flowing by was just idyllic.

Stunning! all reports accurate. took us approx 3 hours from Kapishya which included a grocery and fuel top-up in the first village as you hit the Great North Rd. (fuel is from the grocery store out of a drum).

arrive early to enjoy the relaxing environment. Signs of eles which passed by some weeks ago

Rustic new camp site on the banks of the Mwaleshi river. Ablutions have hot showers, long drop but with a seat! Each camp site has its own washing up area and tap with running water.
Michael welcomed us with a huge smile.

Very nice nature Camp direct on the river. Very friendly caretaker. Nice shower and clean toilet. Set up here before North Luangwa NP. $ 10/pppn
Very recommend!!

What a stunning location. All new, at the river for just $10pppn. Hot and cold running water in perfect shower building and showers. Just 2 campsites available though, so better check availability upfront.

Very very nice campsite! Clean and well maintained. Right on the river and really recommend to stay before entering North Luangwa or coming out. It’s 10 dollars or 200 kwacha (there conversion isn’t right but that is how it is) Caretaker is very sweet and makes sure you have fire wood, hot water and are happy.

It seems this is now the only campsite at the western gate of Northern Luangwa. campsite is isolated, beautifully shaded and near the river. But small, 3 cars max. The caretaker first told us the campsite is full with 4 people and 2 cars since they don't allow more than one group at a time (only one brai and sink area). Since we knew the people camping there from the precedent campsite, we were allowed to stay. Camping was large enough for 2 groups. Other proposed option was to camp near a chalet, but not all of them are reachable by car.

Nice isolated campsite next to the river. Paid USD10 pppn camping.

Hot shower overlooking the river, composting toilet on the top of a large ant hill and shady river view make this a decent campsite for a night or two.

They also supply firewood and have running water at the campsite.

Their self catering tents look very nice and are a bargain at USD25pppn.

Issue here is North Luangwa doesn't have a lot of animals especially close to the Manor gate.

We stayed in the permanent tents which are a little bit away from the campsite. If you want to get an early start the next morning these are a great option. We negotiated and got the tent for K800 including two extra mattresses for the kids. There is a full kitchen for your use and an awesome dining room. The setting along the river is very picturesque.

Charming, little campsite in the middle of the bush (literally). Not an even surface, but the Mwaleshi River runs only about 20m away. Can fit a few rooftop tents. Very peaceful. Only 2 signposts on the way and you’ll end up to the caretakers’ house, he’ll guide you to the campsite. Warm shower with a river view. Only about 3km to the Mano Gate of the North Luangwa National Park. Emanuel (staff) was extremely friendly and he made sure the service was great! Very nice stay. :) $10/pppn.
