I was on a solo bike tour from Ecuador to Ushuaia. On today’s ride, I saw no accommdation S. of Andahuaylas.
Today I wild camped at 32 km. Turnoff was 31.4km & 3999m (S13.66884 W73.22491) onto gravel track on right. See photo. The WC was 800 m up the track. I stayed here for 1 night. This site was well documented in 2018 by Jenny and Curtis Shaw (CJ Bike Tours, Day 754). Thanks guys!
I much enjoyed my camp here. Pros: peaceful and fairly well hidden from the gravel pit. Spectacular evening views. Cons: no water. Note: the plateau 50 m above my campsite had more space and better views. It was too steep for me to push my bike.
Water: The nearest good source was at 26.9 km (4.5 km N of the gravel road turnoff). The water source at 1.2 km S. had much garbage and was therefore of questionable potability.

Nice and well hidden spot, we spent a quiet night here. The road that leads you up to this point starts about 300m further up the road. Seems to be an old quarry of sorts but the track seemed like it hadn't been in use for quite some time. Nice views
Report Check-InStill a good spot for camping with a nice view. Remember that you are over 4100 meters in altitude at this point.
Report Check-InGravel and patchy grass plateau was fine for an overnight stay! We couldn’t get down the hill to the cyclist spot with our fully loaded motorcycle (now a difficult access steep narrow grassy track between drop off to gravel pit and field). We found some grass on the upper area, it’s mostly gravel and still part visible to the road, but a hailstorm soon fixed that for us! Quiet night lovely views in the morning.
