Something not right?

Description

Down a dirt road with rocks and some roots. I wouldn't take a big rig but a 2wd with basic clearance is fine. Overlooking this pretty bay. It should be free on this side but there could be a small fee if you use a palapa, at very end u take the right at fork that says "campo" ...Fairly rocky here so a tent could have hard time, but look around tho or maybe on the beach!

Wonderful spot that reflects the other comments, we stuck to the left after the orange markers and ended up on the bluff overlooking the beach. Locals were on the lower step closer to the water having a meal. Some ATV/dirt bikers showed up for a bit of a rip around, but that is Baja and all was good. Beach is beautiful and 2wd is completely fine if you stay out of sand which is easy to do. We were the only ones spending the night. Enjoy!!!

Camped here for a few nights, easily acessable with 2wd, a good free spot not too far away from San Felipe. There were usually at least 3-5 other overlanders here.

Place is so beautiful!! we stayed for two nights, on the second night the national guard did roll up in two trucks and we were approached with bright flashlights shining in the vehicle. after a brief conversation they said we were fine to camp there and they were very nice. (i don’t know much spanish and they didn’t know much english so I am still unaware of why they came by)

Stayed for a night. Great spot. Road isn’t bad getting there. Go through the orange poles! Beautiful sunrise this morning.

Spent a good night here, even if it was a bit windy. Like other people have mentioned you want to hang a left when the fence starts to avoid going to the pay campground. Just drive between the orange poles and it will send you up to this spot. Also, there’s actually three or four little areas to camp up here with different plateaus across the beach. Two or three bars of Verizon.

Quiet and uneventful night. We were alone with the view. Perfect first night in BAJA, not too far from the border.

Nous avons passé une nuit tranquille dans ce beau point de vue surplombant la mer. Beaucoup de déchets jetés dans les broussailles sur le chemin d'accès côté village. Nous avons également ramassé au petit matin plusieurs filets échoués sur la plage.

We stayed her twice in/out of Baja and really liked the area to the left at the end of the bluff overlooking the beach, you have to drive down 20ft or so to a stepped down bluff with more privacy.

Very nice place in front of the sea. You can access to the sandy beach (by high tide) by foot. Very quiet. Some foot fishers come here. Beautiful sunrise! To come here take the "Calle Mar Cortez" street, the other one is closed.

Gorgeous view and great campsite! Saw the post about barbed wire being across road however that appears to be on the left further down the road. We took center direction and parked facing sea.

just as described, beautiful view, very quiet

great one night spot, just arrived beautiful and quiet recommend strongly

Followed all the way up, but found a barbed wire fence blocking the road. almost got stuck, so I got out of there. Could have parked on the road up there overlooking the town, but I split.

Great place near San Felipe…highly recommended!

Came here in our 2WD van and it was lovely but after it got dark we had someone show up right beside us, when there were a lot of other options for them to take…we got spooked and left. We went to Kiki’s for some peace of mind since it was our first night doing vanlife in Baja.

This location really is nice, up on a bluff with some trails down to the beach. We didn’t have any issues getting there with our van. Close to town, so relocating wasn’t too bad. Just glad it wasn’t before all the rv parks were closed.

Watch out where you going there’s some really soft spot and I’ve get stuck in Ford e150 2wd
I had to find some people at the house nearby a very cool American guy came with a truck and some very friendly locals came from nowhere help me to dig out and push the van out

Excellent spot, spent 2 nights here without any issues. Very quiet, another van stopped by for 1 night and moved on.
Will come back when we’re in the area.

A very beautiful place at the edge of the biasphere reserve, with a endless view to the Sea of Cortez. There's a 40-foot cliff above the beach, but easy access.

     ....I had stayed at what is marked as public beach just south of San Felipe and it was fine,, but it's so nice to get away from the sandbuggy bedlam of San Felipe and the daytime busyness at that other Beach. Indeed this is an oasis of quietude in comparison, and under 4 km from the malecon.

 .. Even the closest landing to the settlement is far enough away to not be obtrusive, but if you follow the meanders of the road, there are further choices towards the north which are higher and a bit further back from the beach.

....Spotty Telcel internet.

.... The Sun goes behind the hill about 4:30 p.m. in late February.  Very nice view of sunrise.

... Not much for firewood directly at the site, but there's plenty to be found on the roadway in.

...Access... to the lower first site,, take a left just before the encampment, and follow a little road along the outside of their fence. If you want something further away, turn left where they have their first small sign.

~~~~~
 ....  A fellow named Miguel or Mikey came over shortly after I arrived, speaks English.  He said he was security with the settlement here, but also said I'm allright.  I was also very clear that I know this is public land.   He wasn't asking for money, but he was asking for food pointing at my tostada chips, and asking about beans. I was happy to share those and some fruit and  threw in 20 pesos for goodwill. This guy immediately went and shared the food with one or two others. They seem to have a subsistence fishing operation going, where they set fishnets at low tide, then race the pelicans and seagulls to get their catch as the tide drops.
.... When I realize how hungry they were, and how hard they were to try and got some fish, I am hoping I can gather the three fellows, and cook them up a big breakfast.
Stopped here and decided not to stay. You’re in clear view of the houses on the beach and their camp. Probably fine to stay for a night if you need to, but not exactly a vibe if you’re looking to relax and enjoy yourself. :-)
