Description

Sticking to the right on your way to Red Hill Hot Spring will take you to this spot on the opposite side of the spring, in sight of the main parking lot. All dirt roads, bumpy/rocky, but not too bad.
Good cell service (T-Mobile/Metro) for the digital nomads.
Me and another guy I met here, both stayed here for the first time, both in RTT's, both unsure if it was OK or not, lol. I asked a local and she said people stay here all the time, and another one said she has been seeing more people camping like us since the quarantine started.

BTW, Google maps will try to take you by Mystic Hot Springs entrance but it is closed due to COVID-19, I found an entrance through a neighborhood backstreet just to the left. You'll see it on the satellite map.

Overall good spot, just freezing. ATM. Hot springs were great, locals come in at sunset, so time it accordingly. There's one on top of the hill where the water comes down that no one seems to go to, it's in front of the fence surrounding the spring, that's even hotter.

Would recommend to a friend.

Latest Check-Ins

The springs are a town park now. There is a pit toilet and no camping at the parking area. There is BLM land around the 40 acre site. Try to buy a little something in town and let them know you came for the hot springs.

It was hard to figure out where exactly the BLM land was. Mind you there was a lot of empty land- I met a sweet guy soaking and together we decided to try to find this spot eventually setting on a flat place near by. It was fine - no one official bothered us. Some annoying folks pulled into the hot spring at 10pm and stayed in a school bus in the hot spring parking lot - they ended up blasting music drunkly at 4 am. My only advise is if you want to sleep go far off - take some of the side roads to the left off the road to the hot spring and drive until you can no longer hear people party. I didn’t go far enough - those folks suck lol.

Report Check-In

There is sign in the parking lot that clearly states no camping. and it's pretty tight for anything bigger than a van. The drunk, obnoxious and naked hippies ruined it for me.

Road is fine . just drive slow. 2-3 potholes easly by passed. no need to drive off road. only the last 0.6 mile is graded gravel road which is fine when dry. There are pleanty of water ( it is early spring season when we are here. 4 pools. different temp. perfect 1.5 hour .

Report Check-In

Lots of dispersed camping near the hot spring. We tied our hammocks to the wooden electrical poles, had a great night and saw a beautiful sunrise! Very easy access.

Turn at gas station. Follow 300 North East. Slow 10-mph zone, then dirt roads, then under power lines, then left. You can see steam rising from pools. “No Camping” is now posted.

Field by bootleg hotsprings. A bit bumpy. Lots of local teenagers after sunset. The springs are more of a puddle, only one of them goes below knee deep. Overall not a bad place, good cell service. Parked our van in the middle of the field.
