Beautiful tranquil place in the Jungle. Easy to pass with a very wide vehicle. The sky is beautiful. At sunset no mosquitoes but cigals singing. Not visible from the road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
they closed the whole road for parking, because of an jaguar accident in sep 23, nothing possible, Park in front the 1. entrance.
Report Check-InNice place to sleep before or after the visit of Calakmul. We stay here with a 4wd camper and a tent. It is very quiet!
Report Check-InGreat little spot, so chilled. plenty of room, however beware there are a few low hanging branches but avoidable (our van is 2.85 metres). had the whole spot to ourselves and stopped off after finishing the ruins, which are fantastic.
Well worth the stop off. They have a trash bin right at the entrance.
great quiet place. we hardly made it in with our 14m set up (truck and trailer). we were told at the entrance that we wouldn't be able to enter the archeological site with our vehicle, but after we disconnected it was fine. many people drive their own vehicle as long as it is not too wide or high. super quiet at night, lots of coatis around
Report Check-InWe arrived at the entrance of Calakmul around 5pm. We told them we were staying at the campground so they let us buy the ticket and enter the site. You can then be the first to visit the ruins next morning. The ticket is for 24h.
Price is 165 pesos per person to enter the reserve + 85 at the entrance of ruins.
Road has a lot of potholes and careful with the branches if you are high.
The spot is nice, hidden, few mosquitoes. You can enter the reserve from 6am and ruins at 8am.
Took us 1:20 to complete the 40km from reserve entrance to ruins. We are 3m high it was ok, but go slowly
We checked this place out at 1 pm in the afternoon and decided to go ahead and visit the ruins that afternoon. The camping spot is all the way in the back on a dead-end - you will not be seen from the road. People know about this place: some left some garbage, others made an (illegal) fire. We would have camped here if we arrived later.
Report Check-InBeautiful tranquil place in the Jungle. Easy to pass with a vary wide vote. The sky is beautiful. At sunset no mosquitoes but cigals singing. Not visible from the road.
