You can drive almost 4-5 km in the dry riverbed. Follow the tracks next to vintage truck. Many options even for big rigs and 2wd. No MTC signal
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Really nice places. There is a handmade driving ban. But it also is saying 'enter at own risk' so I understand it is up to you if you enter for an overnight parking, as camping is not allowed in the whole park. 4wd suggested. No MTC signal.
Report Check-InNice and quiet place with so many options.
Near to the fisher canyon so it’s perfect if you drive after the sunset. Not visible from the road.
Great wildcamp with hundreds if not thousands of options. Follow the dry riverbed. Even 2wd can make it but once the tracks end, the sand is a bit loose. Quiet. Wind dies in evening. No MTC. Saw ostriches and baboons. Baboons come close at night so keep your things inside. The only annoyance is the self-appointed class monitor in comment below that has gone the lengths of posting the same comment in a 100 KM radius…other than that this place is great
Report Check-InWe parked our car (toyota hilux) under the tree about 70m after the pick up on the left. Quit and nice place. 4x4 recommended. It's visible from the road, but a few cars passed by and nothing happened. We slept in our car, don't know if there is enough clearance for a rooftent. Other people passed by and drove further away from the road.
Report Check-InWe drove into the riverbed and stayed under a cliff. It was a bit windy so this was a nice spot with a great view. Unfortunately we didn't see much wildlife.
Report Check-InNice quiet place we drove in till we saw the ruins and camped behind the ruins along the bush line.
Report Check-InThere's another place at the vintage truck of the side of the road, but we decided to drive further along the riverbed, to be totally hidden.
This area is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Lots of animals like wild horses, oryxes and zebras here (but when they see you, they won't come close)
