Report Check-In

This wasn't a bad stay and a reasonable price considering it's San Diego County. The park was full for a rainy weekend, so book well in advance. The spots are somewhat packed together, so don't expect a lot of privacy from your neighbor. That being said, it was peaceful, safe and had good security around the park. Only a few spots had full hookup. Ours was a partial with electricity and water. There is one RV dump station near the exit that is free for camp spot holders, but expect a line towards checkout time so plan accordingly.

LOVED our time here! $400 for 2 weeks, full hookup! Easy in/out! If looking for dump, they allow dump for non-campers, $10. Staff was amazing, so friendly. Very clean! Only negative, right over San Diego flight path. We enjoyed watching the planes, but definitely not quiet.

Report Check-In

This is a beautiful, quiet campground just outside of SD. Paid $33 for a paved, partial hookup site for our van, a great deal. Bathrooms were very clean and showers are available using tokens that can be purchased at the Ranger Station. Highly recommend this campground!

Report Check-In

Camping 30$ per nigth, some places are almost on the highway (20-29 approx). Token for showers (very clean, 50cents for a 4 minutes)

Report Check-In

I stayed for a total of four nights and really enjoyed it. It's $29/night for partial hookups. Showers take tokens (25 cents per token, purchase at the check-in gate). Showers take two tokens to start, and each token is worth two minutes. Love the darkness at night, and I was able to see the stars. Some noise from the highway and planes, but I wore earplugs to help me sleep. Would recommend.

Report Check-In

Under the airport flight path in addition to helicopters flying overhead. The highway traffic and road noise felt deafening to our nature-loving ears. We try to rarely be in cities so this place was a sensory overload - so loud.

Report Check-In

The campground is located close to the highway so it is very noise it. Also must be a militar base close to because the are a lot of helicopters flying arround. The parcel are close to each others no privacy. The only good thing is the preise 29 dollars but I will not recommend this place at all

Report Check-In

Nice campground. Stayed in spot 128 in early March. Good cell service. The spots are close, but there is a lot of vegetation in between, so it at least feels a bit more private. Showers use tokens and are very cheap. You can take a shower for .50-.75 cents. Lots of noise from the nearby freeways military helicopters overhead, but not that noticeable inside the van. Would recommend.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to stay. Stayed a few days on the south loop (partial or no hook up sites $29) with I think had more trees and shade than the northern loop (full hook-up $35). Convenient location and definitely not as expensive as other campgrounds around. Didn’t have a good feeling of wildcamp in San Diego for a few days while we had to wait there for some car part…
Washrooms nothing fancy but mostly clean. $0,50 for 4 minutes (tokens)
Can get crowded in weekends with families but on weekdays we had choices of sites
Very friendly staff
More recommended then then Tijuana river campground also run by stateparks because of more shade (more available spots though mostly)

Report Check-In

Wonderful campground full hookups on San Diego (25 minutes close to downtown city). Paid 35$ per night. Very leveled, pull-trough sites. Splash pads included for kids when camping. Make sure you arrive at checkin time otherwise they will turn you back. Not after either.
Very clean. Definitely recommence!

Loved this spot of city camping. Conveniently located in the middle of everything but large open camping spots with grass trees and a view.

Cons: I’m not sure where the the wifi was everyone is talking about here? Maybe 2 bars in the north campground at the 2 sites closest to the big building. None anywhere else with no booster. Traffic noise was considerable especially in the south end of the south campground. The tiny red ants are brutal and they bite. They get into everything. I noticed some people had ant powder around their tents and levelling jacks on their RV’s. They don’t climb truck tires thank goodness. The reservoir is only open a few days out of the week. No idea why? Bathrooms are kinda gross. If you get a campsite with no trees prepare to feel like you’re on the surface of the sun.
Pros: staff is super nice and helpful. Our power box crapped out and they fixed it immediately. View and sunset are beautiful from the north campground and the north side of the south campground. Other campers were super friendly but there are some strange characters living there. Felt safe and secure though. Left a cooler and battery while we went to town and had no issue. If I went back I’d stay in the north campground. Way more updated and private.

Update: don’t buy fire wood from them. They sell you wet unburnable hardwood for $5 a bundle. It’s a waist. Bring your own.

Nice campground. Nit very quiet with the planes and freeway noise. Tho not that bad. The bathrooms are weird: metallic and low and not very conducive to business. Showers are token operated .25cents buys you a token and a token is for 4 min of water. Nice hot shower otherwise. I have been here twice during the week and nit very crowded. Overall good place.

Report Check-In

Stayed a week. Clean park, but lots of freeway noise. Weekend is loud with many kids and families in the lower loop.

This cg consists of 2 parts: the older south loop (big trees, shadow, only p+w sites) and the newer north loop ( private restrooms, no shadow, concrete slabs). From both loops one has very nice views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Sites are fairly big and give some privacy. Good wifi. Not totally quiet at night due to a local highway.

Report Check-In

Very nice county campground. Clean sites with full hookups, level cement pads, private areas around site. No WiFi, or pool but splash pad for the kids. Good hiking trails and fishing lake on the property

Report Check-In

Nice full hook up campground located in a rural area outside of Chula Vista. Very nice level concrete pads with hook-ups located in good positions. Desert brush surrounding the site providing good privacy. No trees or shade in upper loops. We were located in site 123 with a 40’ fifth-wheel and had plenty of room. Nice view of the valley, good satellite and cell phone coverage.

Report Check-In

nice little place close to all the SD beaches,$30 bucks in cali camping cant be beat. dollar for a 8 min shower, it is pet friendly too. your typical RV camp ground, but there is a nice veiw and your bot stacked like sardines which is nice.

Report Check-In

San Diego city administered park with clean restrooms and showers. Sites are close together and the park is under the approach path to San Diego airport so there is aircraft noise.

Report Check-In

Cheapest payable place in San Diego.
If coming from the freeway you need to pay the toll (only 2 usd for 2 axles).
1,5 miles from beer store.

Report Check-In

spots are nice with power, water and fire pit. 29usd. bathrooms were quite dirty, not cleaned during the 2 days we stayed there. Noise from highway and airport.

Report Check-In

Great place. Big sites, nice view. Quiet. Used this to prep before we went into Mexico for the winter. Bathrooms are clean and large.

Report Check-In

Very quiet and cheap campground regarding the huge rates in the area. Took a electricity/water spot (no sewer) for 29$/night as I was able to use the dump station on my departure day. The staff is very friendly. As stated above... a gem in the area.

Report Check-In

Great option not far from San Diego, much cheaper than other camp ground and staff was much friendlier as well. We paid 29 USD for a partial hook up with a nice view and had a quiet night. Wifi works well around the main building. Other campers sometimes a bit strange but non hostile, we did not leave any stuff outside just to make sure.

Report Check-In

Nice campground with beautyful view. Highway is not too noisy. 0,75$ for 6 min shower.

Report Check-In

great spot to stay before crossing into mexico (spent 2 nights here)
29$ including good WiFi
coin showers

Report Check-In

What was first a great find turned out sort of sketchy. Being a county park they don't close the gates so night one ( in partial hookup loop) we had our firewood stolen. 2nd night odd cars driving through all night and at 3am a group of guys sort of wandering around. We left for a few nights but returned to the more expensive full hookup sites for one night( further from the main gates, etc) to combat the ridiculous cost of camping here. The trails were great, facilities fine but we truly didn't feel good here.

Report Check-In

Nice spot just outside of San Diego. About 20 miles from the border. Some highway and airplane noise but nothing too intrusive. Great views, hiking and mountain bike trails. Sites 1-14 are perfect for tents, vans or pickup w camper. The rest are more suited to RV's. Showers are 50 cents. $30 USD per night as of February 2016. Photo is from site 13.

Report Check-In

Camped one night before hopping over border. There are nice hot coin operated showers. Convenient location. $29 partial hookups, $32 full.
