Description

There a a couple of Restaurants here right on the beach with covered parking spots and also some small cabins for rent. We stayed for free (as long as we ate once a day from the restaurant). Cold shower (but totally fine given the beach weather), toilets and water. There are lots of places to tent. We didn't check prices for cabins or tenting, but we suspect very reasonable. here is a link to the cabins. Excellent place to stay for a few days! Beach very clean, easy swimming, beautiful place. The restaurants also make incredible fish dishes. If you like surfer atmosphere this place is excellent and cheap.

What a great place! They let us tent/put our hammocks under the palapas on the beach, as long as we would consume something at the restaurant. Cold showers and toilets available on the beach next to the palapas. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. The food was good. Would've loved to stay longer!

Nice place to park on the grass. We had to pay 50 pesos. You can hear the waves at night. Because of holidays it was busy with Mexican families, but still a nice place. If you walk to the right at the beach you will find a kind of small lake opposite to the sea. A lot of children playing here. Our 1 year old son loved the calm water there as well (because the sea is wild).

Report Check-In

Did not like it. very pricey restaurant compared to others in the area.
Very windy with no protection.
Could not swim or surf...rough sea.
Had to pay for the night even if we eat at the restaurant...

Absolutely love this place. The ocean is beautiful and the swimming is great. 150pesos a night 100for the second night. Quiet even on Friday night.

Came here around 4 pm. The parking attendants were very pushy at first. After telling them we just wanted to check it out we were allowed past. Parking supposed to be 50 pesos but we parked by la perla and bought a plate of shrimp which were delicious. Paid 130 pesos plus 20 for beer (and tip on top) and stayed the night for free. Felt safe. Super quiet. Even have cold showers and clean bathrooms.

Everything was perfect! We had the beach and campsite to ourselves. Camping is free as long as you have a meal at the restaurant. We had the best Huachinango (Red Snapper) so far in Mexico! 350 pesos enough for 4 people. The staff was nice, helpful and always smiling. Clean toilets and good cold shower. One of our best spots in Mexico!

First time in Mexico did I feel like an ATM. Far away from the well known Mexican buena onda. Really pushy service, hall of the prices are on the menus , overpriced bills (250 pesos for a pulpo a la diabla: it's a 100 pesos meal in Zipolite or Puerto Escondido), average facility services. Day and night mosquitos ended-up the job: I left after 1 night. Never again.

La Perla II - Ask the prices before order! They wanted to charge us a big pescado al horno for 350P. The food is on the expensive side for what they offer (fish filets with a bit of salad for 120P). The beach is very narrow and the waves are very strong.

They told us 100 mxn per night to sleep in our van on the grass. No discounts if we eat at the restaurant. We left because it was really pushy, and found another more beautiful and free spot not far away.

Great place, very nice beach, quiet & relaxing. We ate at La Perla 2. Camped for free in the grass for four days while purchasing some food every day. Food was delicious and people are very friendly. Stock up on water and supplies at the tiendas on the highway before coming, you might not want to leave.

Nice place with friendly people and fishermen.
We stopped at the first palapa named "Restaurante Cabañas El Chayon".
We payed 50 MXN$ to park our Defender and use bathroom.
Possibility to rent a cabaña if you like; they asked 400MXN at first, then 350 and half an hour later only 300MXN.
We'd rather sleep in our car and have a good meal.
A big delicious grilled fish ("sierra") for two : 250 MXN$ including salad and tortillas.

Great place to relax...to get there, coming from Salinas cruz, take a left in the town of Morro de Mazatan towards (overhead sign) Playa Cangrejo

The road turns to dirt and then turns left at a water park sign.

The owner, Angel, was extremely friendly. We parked in a great shaded grassy area and put our hammock up.

Lovely place. Very clean, friendly people. Beautiful beach. We ordered grilled fish in Perlas restaurant - fresh and cheap - and spent the night for free.

You drive from the Mex 200 5 km gravel road until you reach the beach. There are some restaurants, La Perla is on the end of road on the right side. The family was really friendly. They have some Cabanas as well. We stayed of the huge parking lot close to the restaurant, you can stay on a shade grassy area as well. We ate in the restaurant right on the beach and so the camping was for free. Nice and quite stay.
