On our way to San Antonio the ruta 1, a bit outside of Bahia Creek, was blocked by small sand dunes on the roads. We tried to pass with our 4WD (vw t3 syncro) some of the sandy parts and got stuck 3 times. By foot, we had a look at the upcoming road and saw that it got worse. It was even not possible to see where the road should have been. Maybe with a more powerful 4WD it is possible to pass. But we decided to go back. We took the ruta 51 back to Viedma.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The sand dunes still exist, but there is a good drivable path along the coast where you can rejoin the ruta 3.
Report Check-Inthe road ist still blocked by dunes but we tried to find the way across the dunes with our Bremach and we did it 😀
Report Check-In100% doable, would do it again. Great fun for 6km in the dunes with a 4x4 Pajero, not a problem. Deflate tires at 1.5, low gear and enjoy
Report Check-InConfirmed! Its still blocked by dunes. We’ ve tried with our Landcruiser, but get stucked after the 5. dune.
