Very disappointing experience. Farm, restaurant and cottages are shut down however we’re allowed to camp next to one cottage and use its facilities. Totally overgrown grassy patch. Had security the whole night next to our car. Paid 1000KSh but would not recommend the place anymore as there are plenty other alternatives around. Currently place is for sale and waiting for new owner. Sad as previous comments really sounded inviting.

Very peaceful small campsite in the forest next to the restaurant, basic but clean facilities and friendly manager. As mentioned below the place must have seen better days, in three days (in the weekend) no one else came to stay there.

Beautiful setting in what once must have been a gorgeous campsite with booming trout restaurant. However, the management changed (Michael is no longer there) and they struggle to keep up.
Good news: showers still hot and cold beer on site. You’re on your own and no one bothering you.
Not so good news: no more trouts (and looking at the state of the ponds no more trout coming back) and service not quite up to standard (we waited 3 hours for a cold plate of fish and chips)
Asking 1000pp for adults and 500pp kids. In the end we paid 2500 per night for 2 adults and 3 kids camping.

Very very beautiful campsite! The way is, like the other posts already said, a bit challenging in the end but with a 4x4 no problem at all!
The staff is very friendly, they offered us a chunk of wood for 300 kSh to make a bonfire. Totally recommended. We were the only guests at this time and paid 1000 KSh pP.

Nice campsite a few KM from the main road. Grassy area and a small stream close by.
A restaurant is on site and hot water is available in the showers plus WC toilets.
Camping fees ksh. 1,000 pppn
Cottages available from 2,000 pppn

Very nice location, perfect for camping with perfect toilets and hot showers. Unfortunately they had no trout but Dennis organized another delicious fish.

Nice place but too narrow for us. The place is not leveled enough moreover. The bridge is a bit tricky for 2.50 and 18 t. We decided to park in front of the gate on a nice meadow for the night. The trout was delicious. But the restaurant is not open officially, because of corona.

Very welcoming place. Grassy spot under big trees. Beautiful Colobus monkeys in the evening that might keep you awake at night. ( we love the sound) . And a tiny bit of view in the far corner of the farm on Mt Kenia if you are lucky in the morning. Not far from the entry road to the campsite you have full view at the mountain on a clear day Michael serves a cold beer and fresh trout with vegetables from their own garden (1200 KES pp)

Beautiful setting along a stream with a large shady/grassed area for campers. Lovely outdoor restaurant/bar area - Michael the chef cooks a delicious whole trout and sides fresh from the kitchen garden for 1200sh. Spotted colobus monkeys in the evening. Paid 1500sh for a couple in a ground tent (no vehicle). Very relaxing stay, highly recommended!

Really nice location. Very friendly staff that tries to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Would go back anytime! Double room 1500KSH pp.

Manager Michael is a seriously decent guy. Excellent place to stop for a couple of days.
Big rigs can squeeze in. I'm in a MAN 4x4 truck.
Electric hook up available.

only stayed one night with the family, fairly flat areas and we slept comfortably in the rooftop tent. nice hot showers and clean toilets. no kitchen though and the firewood ran out fairly fast for 300. charged 1000 per person for camping, kids free.

we loved this place. the whole restaurant/farm/ cottages setting is gorgeous and offers some views on the mount kenya. the restaurant is good. the staff is friendly and efficient. the camping is good and sunny/shady as wished. we had a 10km round walk in the hills around through the fields with help of google satellite map and the people on our way. Just perfect stay.

Such a great place! Good and generous food at the restaurant (800 for a vegetarian dish). Great hot shower, clean toilets, incredible nice and helpful staff. Very peaceful place close to a torrent on a grassy spot under the trees. We've been for a 10km walk in the villages around to get to see Mount Kenya (as it's not visible from anywhere in the campsite). It was so pleasant!

Beautiful place. Michael the manager welcomed us warmly and prepared a delicious trout for us (1200KSH).

For camping we paid 1500KSH for a couple. Firewood is 300 per wheelbarrow.

The signboard for Kentrout in the village is only visible when coming from Nanyuki (to the right).

What a beautiful place after the hussel bussel of Nairobi. Staff welcomed us with open arms even though we arrived late and cooked us delicious trout and veggies. 1000ksppn. Hot showers and clean flushing toilets.

Nice and quite Restaurant and Farm Area with Camping on the Green Grass. Public Toilets and Taps but they also opened the private ‚Staff Bathroom‘ including a warm Shower for us. Friendly Staff. Free Electricity available. Also negotiated 500 KSh pppn.

Very welcoming staff, beautiful forest/garden/lodge/trout farm atmosphere + reasonable price (1000ksh for 2 incl. vehicle/night). Flat nice grassy areas for several vehicles and lots of tents too, shade or sun. Access ok for Troopers and Defenders, not much bigger though. We were given access to “private” bathroom with electrical shower. The trout dinner is delicious!! Highly recommended stop. Came for 1 night, stayed 4.

Wanted to stay here, bit asked 1000kes pppn, was too much for us so did not stay here. Price is negotiable, dropped to 750kes pppn. There a some flat places for a rooftop or pop up roof. Cold showers only, negotiate use of warm shower in the house (if needed).
