Description

We wanted to stay at the Lake Shore Lodge, but it was closed. One guy told us, that we could camp at the brother's place. It's at the end of the village, direct at the lake. Very basic, but a lovely quiet place. They have also rooms (20000 shilling pppn). Camping is 15000 Shilling pppn. If you reach Kipili, ask for brother Anton, a very friendly Benedictine monk. I only have E strength signal with Tigo.

Accidentally arrived. Here instead of the lake
Shore lodge. After a quick check with brother Dominick there is one spot for the overlander at the waters edge near to the shipping container accommodation. Staying on the waters edge with the strong afternoon onshore breeze sounded better than in the trees at lake shore lodge. There was some young adults with music in the early evening but it quieted down before long. Used the toilet and cold shower in one of the rooms. Was asked for 40,000 tzs for one person per night and that’s crazy so he reduced it to 20,000. More negation could have gotten it lower buts it’s a mission so consider it part of giving.

Friendly enough but for 20.000tsh (not negotiable) standing next to a group of German architects who are building accommodation out of old containers wasn’t that appealing. There is also no beach due to the high water so its a small patch of rocks right at the water basically. I quickly moved on...
