At the end of the road is a parking and turnaround area. There are picnic tables with covers, palm trees which are a perfect hammock distance apart, sand, benches and trash cans. Also an old building from the prison era.
Very few mosquitoes. Parked here for three nights. Locals were friendly. Nearby is a little store and a restaurant (in season).

busy at daytime in a nice atmosphere. turtle season and a few people come by in the evening to look for them as we do. you can find them nearby, just wonderfull.
Report Check-InEcellent spot. Seems to catch the best breeze to keep mosquitoes away. Once the wind stops… you’re doomed ;-) Beginning of turtle egg laying season. One night we saw a dozen of turtles coming ashore, including underneath our truck! Other night just a single one. During the day it’s calm, but by nightfall the place gets filled with people armed with red lights to see the turtles - including gendarmerie to keep an eye on things. Luckily the mosquitoes are such a nuissance that most people leave quickly again - around midnight we had the beach and turtles to ourselves.
Stayed 3 nights here, really peaceful at night, lots of people on day. it was holiday for french and really nice people, you can buy some callebasse there too.
Report Check-InNice place, friendly locals, always some people around that come by car and leave again. Beach is very beautiful but the water is a bit brown like everywhere on the Guyanas coast. Spent a calm night here.

We found this to have very few mosquitoes. Parked here for three nights. Locals were friendly. Nearby is a little store and a restaurant (in season). NOTE: we heard that during turtle season this place can be crazy. Lots of people, lots of rules, etc. (April-Nov) We were here during off-season and it was chill. Dogs wandering off leash, a few beach goers, businesses closed.
