awesome campground! heads up, the "campground full" sign is permanently fixed so just ignore it because we found a spot at 330 on a Thursday. not the best (#4) but available. they all have reserved tags with the dates on them. so we found a couple that were not reserved for that specific night and took it. The second morning we got up and drove around and found the absolute best spot we think, #24. it's on the back loop and does not have any immediate neighbors. We weren't even going to stay another night but it was too good to pass up. The night before we put on headlamps and hiked up the road. there are four mountain goats that live on a rock around the corner. fun to watch them at night and see their eyes! lots of fun wildlife, water and bathrooms easily available.

Our friend recco’d site 22 as best site there and my goodness were they right! Total privacy, enclosed site. Even has petroglyphs in it and a cool rock structure that looks like a bird skeleton. We arrived at 930am to get the site (Welcome Center said checkout is 11am though, and very slack). Surprisingly it was empty! Though we had multiple people throughout our stay ask us when we were leaving so they can snag it right after us. One person reserved the site and asked to put their slip on it so to have it show reserved right away👀

Other than that we think site 28 is really cool too, huge huge rock behind it, not 100% secluded but was good!

If you arrive at the State Park and there’s a sign on the entrance saying “campground full” its regarding the other campground, with hook ups. This one is a little bit easier but you do have to show up around 8 to 10am. You wont get a spot here arriving in the afternoon. Its a very secluded campground, one of the bests ive ever camped. Totally worth it!

nice area, water& dumping, Park is excellent, 15$ per day, dry camping +10 $ first come first serve (cash envelope or creditcard visitor center), ranger control late afternoon, paid 50$ for 2 nights and 3 days in the Park, good deal

This is our fourth time camping at Valley of fire State Park. We arrived on Wednesday Wednesday at around 4 PM and arch campground had only one other camper in a tent. They left around 5 PM and the entire arch campground is vacant. It’s a Wednesday and I cannot imagine this happening on a weekend. The sunsets here are always spectacular.
There are plenty of mountain goats and running around the campground. One particular goat entertained us by ramming its horns on the water faucet turning it on and then drinking out of a puddle below it. It was hilarious. We stayed in #22. It’s the shadiest spot in the entire campground as you have a little Canyon older yourself.

Very nice Campground, first came first serve system! 10$ at night, and we left early (before 8am) so we didn't have to pay for a second day at the park. Dup station just 500mt before the campground with potable water, but also every spot on the campground has his own water tab, very nice!
We sow bighorn sheep at the Arch just before the campground.
No t-mobile service.

Could not find an RV spot with full hook ups at Atlatl campground so we drove to Arch Campground. luckily we found spot #7. After paying for it, we immediately went to fill up our fresh water tank at the dump station. They do provide fresh potable water there, afar from the dump station area. We ran out of water later on. I remembered that Atlatl campground does have warm showers so we went there to freshen up. Both locations are great but since it's first come, you have to get lucky.

We stayed 2 nights. It is first come basis. no reservations available. Atlal Campground was full so we drove to Arch Campground. Luckily we found spot #7 in front of the Restrooms. We brought our own generator which you can use from 7am to 3pm. Atlal has showers with warm water. We did have to drive there and use the showers since our RV ran out of water. We did fill up the Water tank dump station with clean potable water.
