Description

Very primitive. It is one of the trail head campsites located off US83 (Monticello Crossroads Scenic Byway). It is 13.5 miles east of I75. The road in is on a forest road but is very level and is gravel. The only caution with the forest road is that it is narrow with no shoulders and ditch drop off so there aren't very many places to yield for in coming traffic. The day I was there (3 pm- 9 am) I did not see a single vehicle coming or going. You could occasionally hear traffic from US83 but it was very faint. Night was VERY quiet and pitch black. Very primitive with few fire rings and an information board..not water, no facilities, and call reception was very weak with AT&T. Campsite was large enough for multiple rigs. It is plenty big for a Class B or C or even a short tow behind. I would not try to take a Class A or 5th wheel in.

As described. Big space. No problem for big rigs or rigs with Toads.

Absolutely magical spot with plenty of space, as of today, no one was here. Quiet little place in the middle of the forest. I highly recommend this place to everyone who needs to stop for the night.

This is such a beautiful spot. I'd say there are 8 large camping spots. A couple of sites already
have fire pits. Plenty of space in between sites with bush, the road to the sites are great and the sites are flat and large.

la description est toujours d actualités, parfait pour un stop d une nuit.

On Google maps this is called Ocmulgee River Trail. As described. No facilities at all and no clear campsites. We just picked a spot in the open space.

Very pretty, remote campsite with lots of room. No water or service.

This was a very nice site. I typically drive through this area at least once a year so I will be staying again.

the site it's self is very nice had a group across the street and one person camped in the area to the left or north. You hear trains and planes time to time but not super loud. I live around a train track so it did not bother me. The plane wasn't too loud but about every hour one flew over.

There are spots on the east end of that road, I am not sure if you can camp in the field right off the road so do your own research but that would a great place to set up. We felt very safe here.

Yep, this place is still here and definitely “my speed”, especially after being in Atlanta for almost a week. Good to get back into the woods :). I’ve been here for about 18 hours, there is one person camping on the other side of the road and I’ve seen 2 other vehicles. . But I believe it’s hunting season. Wear orange. My dog is happy here!

You can hear the train from every few hours, but I love trains so it’s a treat. The tracks are probably 1-1.5 miles away as the crow flies.

Tip: It’s pretty humid around here so if you’re wanting to start a fire, firewood or fire starters are a worthwhile investment.

Stayed here here for a few days at the end of October 2021 on my way back from Florida. nice flat spot and the trains didn't bother me but the mosquitoes were HORRIBLE. I literally couldn't leave my van during the day except to pee because they were everywhere. other than that nice spot if you wanna ride horses or get some computer work done.

Great little spot. Enough room for 10 or so larger RVs. Only a horse trailer and 2 tents on a weekend. Lots of trails and a river about 1/2 mile away. small gas station 3 miles up the road.

There are two larger open level areas, one on each side of the easy to travel gravel road. 3 rigs already occupied the larger area between the road and the river, and we took the empty area on the other side of the road. Our spot was easily large enough for two private camping areas, and maybe four or five all in the same group. Easy hiking trail nearby, and tall trees surround the site. Very nice spot, large rigs will fit and the road is easy for all vehicles big and small. Less than ten min from I-75.

Very nice place to stay. Grass openings, level ground. Well maintained gravel road.

This was a great, peaceful spot for my partner and I to stay a night. We were the only ones there. No amenities, just beautiful forest. Well maintained single-lane gravel road leads from the highway. Big enough to park a medium-sized trailer.

Beutiful in the words at a horsetrail trailhead. Quiet, a litlly buggy, spent one night. Another camper was present. Many spots available.
