250,- Rand for two a night.

Report Check-In

Farmstyle camping, old but clean ablution. Big stands with electricity. Near enough to Lambertsbay for a day's visit. If you zoom in, you'll see the Njala on the riverbank.

Very comfortable well appointed campsite with an interesting history . Ablutions are very clean

Slept here last night. Only paid R100. Bathrooms clean . Hot showers. Very friendly host and two dogs! Jess and Teddy. Quiet stream at campsite and road was nearby but traffic was no problem at all. Vodacom signal strong enough for slow whatsapp.

Beautiful campground on the river with electricity, water and grassy, shady sites. Ablutions clean and neat. magda is a wonderful host and has a wealth of local knowledge. In the 1800 Vanputtensvlei was a small settlement with a post office, hotel and bar. There is a museum with all the history. A must stay on your travels. Magda Engelbrecht 083 2337250

Really nice campground with nice grass spots and lots of shade. The owners are very friendly. You can borrow a braai and buy wood for 2 rand a piece. I paid 100 rand for my tent and bike. The bathroom was really nice and clean.
There's a pen with 20 big turtoise and lots of birds everywhere. 2 cute dogs will welcome you. Take the road with "Vanputtensvlei" sign. Short dirtroads that takes you to the campground entrance.

Very friendly owner. Nice camp sites with lots of shade and grass. Camp spots are next to each other but it was very quiet when we were here. Old police station and post office has been wonderfully restored and there is a little museum that is worth a look.

Report Check-In

Nice little campsite on grass. Friendly elderly owner. The abblutions are creatively built into to rocks and very spacious. Good area for birdwatching. Lambert's bay itself isn't anything special

Fantastic campsite, enjoyed very much staying here. Clean ablutions, sites are directly at a small river, grassy, secluded. The history of the place is amazing, we recommend to talk to Magda, the owner who lives at the site herself. The campsite is on a historic site!

Report Check-In

Great place, nice pond with birds.
The owner asked us to write on iOverlander to take the road with the sign "Vanputtenvlei", and NOT the one to Posduifklip. The gate between the two properties is closed.
Vanputtenvlei is 1km west of the one to Posduifklip.
We paid ZAR250 for 2 people for 1 night.

Report Check-In

Definitely stay here!
A slice of paradise on the riverbank. 100 years ago this was a small village which has been deserted and eventually ran down. The place has been completely renovated over the past 20 years by the owners (a very friendly older couple who welcomed us into their house which is like a small museum) and this has been done with both love style. We especially liked the ablutions that have been created against the rocks and in large wine barrels.
It’s nice to go for a walk or go for a paddle in one of the boats when the river holds enough water.
