Something not right?

Description

Residential street next to apartment complex, block away from ocean. We slept in our car for one night without issues. No street signs prohibiting overnight parking. Right next to apartment complex so probably best to be discrete. At 6 am we drove down a block to one of many parking spots right by the ocean that allows parking after 5 am. Also public restrooms at the beach but not very clean.

Stayed here last night. This is a spot we’ve stayed many times before. It’s quiet at night and packed with other vans. In the morning the nose picks up as the neighborhood wakes up.

sleept 10pm to 8am without problems, quiet

Report Check-In

Good street parking by apartments and 1 block from beach. No signs. 4 other rigs parked. Cars driving by playing music, people talking outside apts until 11, so not the quietest but felt safe. Bathroom at beach opens at 8am and was clean. Go watch the surfers in the morning!

Great Place to stay and its very quit to sleep.

Decent spot, it’s beautiful and right by the water and not far from downtown. Although whoever said it was quiet was entirely false. We stayed in our van 2 nights in a row and both times we got repeatedly woken up in the night and early morning by cars bumping loud bass music passing by, and this morning awoken at 6:30am by an extremely loud garbage truck banging and clanging and beeping half a block down. I don’t know what the noise bylaws are for garbage but it shocked us right out of sleep convinced someone had gotten into an accident or something on the road from the sheer level of noise. Couldn’t fall back asleep after that because of cars still passing by. Wouldn’t recommend this place unless you have a really good soundproofing system in your rig or if you’re a heavy sleeper.

Nice spot close to the beach. A bit unleveled sideways, but not to much. Felt save, some other camper spent the night there. You can hang out by the sea within 2 minutes walking. Would come again.

Awesome spot ! Parked about three car lengths from the stop sign and had a great nights sleep. No one bothered and it wasn’t too loud, woke up at 6:30 and moved to the free parking (after 5am) that they have right across the street to overlook the ocean
Felt safe and would come again

Stayed near this spot on national st, fairly quiet, no signs posted.

Quiet residential street right next to the cliffs. Stayed there for about 1 week with no issues and plenty of parking spaces. Bathrooms and a drinking fountain are about a half mile away.

I spent the night here last night. Street night was minimal after 11pm and in the morning sounds of sea lions barking and waves crashing. Great way to wake up! :)

The views from the nearby walkway along the ocean are amazing!

PACKED! we got here around 5 but pulled down to the beach parking for dinner & sunset, we headed back to Columbia around 8 and there were 2 other camper vans there, but 12 the entire street, bumper to bumper, was packed with rigs, it was a quiet night and no one left any trash behind, a good spot but a little too busy to be “stealth”

Report Check-In

Decent spot to park, no signs on the street restricting hours. The municipal code makes car camping illegal but there are a ton of camping vans all over this neighborhood so I don't think it's enforced.
