Open 08:00 to 21:30. We arrived at 21:
40 and they could not let us pass. The road on the Argentina side gets very muddy in the rain, better be cautious here.

Report Check-In

entering argentina around 11am - took 1 min, very easy and simple (building on the right, next to the stop sign). only asked where we were going, no inspection

Report Check-In

Entering Argentina from Chile. The Argentinian customs completely messed up the papers with vehicle numbers and nationality of the owner. When we tried to talk to them they got really angry and sent us away. After quite a while of discussion, they finally gave in and checked us in with the right dates. CHECK ALL THE IMPORTANT NUMBERS OF YOUR DOCUMENTS ON THE PAPERS!

Report Check-In

Chile > Argentina. Fairly quick process other than the bus load of people who arrived then queue-jumped at Immigration. A couple of locals got a little pissed at this, particularly after one American women justified it by suggesting they had been "queuing on the bus" (LOL). That aside, both Immigration and Customs officials friendly and efficient. Apart from queue time, immigration and a TIP for the motorcycle took all of about 10 minutes. There's then about 6km of average gravel road before you hit the pavement.

Crossed border around 6pm. It’s comically quaint for an international border on the Argentinian side. Very quick process, no checks of our van on Argentina side. Chilean side we declared that we had a small amount of cheese and the border guard allowed us to keep it after performing a very perfunctory check!

Report Check-In

They checked us for fresh food on the way out. Which is weird. We were expecting a simpler border crossing. It still wasn’t bad though.

Report Check-In

Exiting Argentina : fast process. The police checked a little the van looking for drugs, didn’t care about food.
They checked our fire extinguisher and as it didn’t have an expiration date she just told us we had to change it. It is mandatory to have one but there is no fine or anything.

Report Check-In

Fast and friendly, in and out in 7 minutes, including the new TIP for our motorhome. No one cared about any food or COVID vaccination, no one asked, no inspection of the vehicle.

Report Check-In

Entering Argentina
Arrived at 14:38. Some people and only one window working for migraciones so it was a little slower compared to other border crossings. Took maybe 20 minutes total.

Report Check-In

Very easy crossing Chile -> Argentina. No one checked our van and no wait!

Report Check-In

Argentina to Chile border crossing: really easy and quick. No queue, friendly officers, quick processing. Great!

Report Check-In

Chile to Argentina border crossing: really easy and quick. No queue, friendly officers, quick processing. And nobody investigated the car. Great!

Report Check-In

Our fastest border ever! Sunday morning 11:00. Everything done in 10 minutes, got TIP for 8 months. They took not even a look in our Truck. Very friendly guys

Report Check-In

Quick pass on chilean side, 5m. The road is unpaved and can be very muddy. On Argentinian side (about 5-10 minutes driving from chilean office) we were tested for covid. Very nice and helpful people on Argentinian side. A local said the pass is open until 19h, on Argentinian side it said it was open until 22h.

Report Check-In

Boarder crossing is open. Hours as of 18 August 2022 are 0800 -1600. There were no signs showing hours, but the lights were on and the door was swung open, An agent who happened to be there (?) told us verbally the hours.

Report Check-In

There are bathrooms on the Argentinian side now :)

Report Check-In

Chile to Argentina. Very fast imigration and Aduana. Just ask your destinacion. The aduana ask about fruit anf vegetables, i sad no and the officer did not checked car.

Report Check-In

Chile to Argentina
Easy border crossing. Took us less then 10 minutes, even with a full tourist bus in front of us.
They didn't check a single van.

Report Check-In

Easy and nice border. The comment below is just out of time and space. On EVERY border you can not bring fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy products and so on... No toilet, no WiFi but officers vere kind and didn't make any problems.

Report Check-In

Chile to Argentina.
Worst border ever for us. We crossed the border to Argentina few times and never had any problems, never took any of our food but this time they took (correction they put in the garbage : Fruits and veggies, milk, eggs, mayonese, butter ... but the worst they wanted to keep our bidon/jerrycan of gas because it was full ?
They said it's not allowed to carry gasoline or diesel in a jerrycan ? Well that's new.
We had to negotiate to fulfilled our tank on place.

Despite that it's a very small border, pretty fast for the rest.

Report Check-In

Quick and easy border. The lady in the 1st step was paying on her cellphone and only noticed me when I knocked on the window. Not friendly but not rude, only the typical officer. Asked if we had hotel reservation, I said we were sleeping in our RTT and no more questions made. They didn't check for food or anything else in the car.

Report Check-In

Argentina —-> Chile, took 5 minutes. No issues for foreigners owning a Chilean plated car. The road to the Chilean side was extremely muddy, but fine.

Report Check-In

The first time we were controlled strictly by Argentinian officers. Checked the whole motorhome for forbidden food (fruit, vegs, meat etc.) and found some sausages in the freezer. They let us cook & eat in the parking lot before crossing the border. Saw them performing an intensive control of some passenger car, they had to take EVERYTHING out of their car, opened all bags and even looked in their personal items and wallet.

Report Check-In

easiest border we have crossed so far. 5th time jumping back and forth. didn't check for food and aduana guy even gas us a brewery recommendation (lol!). road was in good condition

Report Check-In

Couldn’t ask for a better dirt road. No problems. Possibly good condition is due to summer weather.

Report Check-In

BE AWARE OF THE BAD ROAD CONDITIONS HERE!

Report Check-In

Quick and effective. For me it was the first time they checked for the international insurance.

Report Check-In

From chile to argentina: very easy and fast, but check your stamp on the argentinien side, they made us the salida stamp 🙄 so they had to make an other stamp.

Report Check-In

The immigration official was not able to speak loud enough to be understood properly through the ridiculous window. Moreover, he was not able to take a proper look in our passports and used the wrong stamp – entrance instead of exit. What a lovely place ...

Report Check-In

When we were there they were checking cars quite thoroughly taking everything. (fruits, veggies, nuts, dairy products, meat). We got lucky though as a big bus full of tourists arrived and they lost interest in us, telling us, that we were to throw out the unallowed food ourselves - which we didn't of course.

Report Check-In

walked in, papers and passport signed, walked out and passed the gate .
5 minutes no more.

Report Check-In

Friendly customs agents and easy border crossing exiting Argentina into Chile. Got our passports stamped and our car TIP canceled and we were on our way in no time.

Report Check-In

We left Argentina here in our motor home and no problems at all with any of our paperwork. Didn't check van for food either. Few others in office, 20 minutes total. Friendly enough.

Report Check-In

Very friendly guys. We're leaving Argentina, no car checking.

Report Check-In

Fast, friendly & professional. Very easy border crossing.

Report Check-In

Super friendly - didn't ask anything - didn't even want to see the inside of the van...all in all took 10-15min!

Report Check-In

Ok.. at the end, the guy even harassed My mother in law by aggressively taking her passports and car documents away from her, which my brother in law intercepted and didn't allow for the officer to take. We got his name : Santiago Oscar Otero. The gandarmeria guy, and immigratión guy advised us to sue him and call the authorities in El Calafate and Rio Gallegos..! He asked for our passports to give the camera back, which we fell was shady because he might have put a restriction to our entry in the country. We finally crossed the border and made it to Chile.

Report Check-In

After stocking up on seeds, veges and fruit etc in Puerto Natales we just had it all confiscated going into Argentina. Unexpected seeing as we've crossed into Argentina a bunch of times already without anyone even looking at our van, let alone in it... Nice guys though - maybe they were just bored.

Report Check-In

Chile to Argentina: Small but busy border, 4 Stations. Many tourist groups crossing here, so it takes some time if there is a group in front of you.
All of the officers were really nice, we even joked around with them :)
Didn't look inside our car, no one asked for carried food.
All in all about 40 minutes and they wanted to see a fire extinguisher from every driver.
Smooth and relaxed crossing all together.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

We were lucky. No check just asked re fruit & veg & only took 20 mins

Report Check-In

To build on the previous comments, when we passed through it took us almost four hours to be processed entering Argentina. There's another pass that's further south (and sealed), but we were told that it was intermittently closed due to protests when we were in Puerto Natales. Bring a good book, and make use of the facilities on the Chilean side!

Report Check-In

Very small but extremely busy border crossing, at least when we were there. Lots of tour busses crossing here. The Chilean customs were also so busy that they barely checked our car for two seconds. Didn't need to worry so much about bringing in food. Dog papers needed to be stamped out and in. FYI no bathrooms at either border but on the Chilean side there's a cafe. Also we were told there's no gas station until puerto natales.
