Something not right?

Description

Flat spot right next to the highway (but very quiet at night). You could find many more spots driving down the logging road (easy for a 2wd) but this spot right before was perfectly fine as well. Stayed here for a few nights in April 2020 and came back here for a night in December 2020. No issues.

Clean up after yourselves and leave no trace! RVs drive down further probably not stealthy enough near the main road.

Latest Check-Ins

The entrance to the place is closed with big rock on the floor, unless someone want to move them with a truck nobody can park here

Report Check-In

Nice place! We stayed further down the road, it was easy doable with 2WD. Some really small potholes so don’t drive like crazy when going in at night. Loads of people stayed itb little pull outs along the road

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a night. Very popular location. Big rigs fear not. The lot right off the road is not the only place to stay and there are plenty of turn around spots if you can’t find anywhere. If the lot right off the road is full just drive down the dirt road for a while, you’ll find a pulloff somewhere. There’s dozens of cars all along it in peak season.

Report Check-In

Nice spots along the gravel road. Can be a bit crowded during the high season!

Report Check-In

parking lot trail, very muddy and 1 long term camper, some cars at night come and go, 6am traffic starts again, not that good

"A Walk In The Forest" trail is currently roped off and closed but you can still park at the trailhead. Room for about 10 vans if you park side by side or a big rig or two. We stayed a couple nights in December. This seems to be the closest place to Tofino you can vehicle camp (it's about 30 mins drive). I'd imagine in the summer it will be packed. If visiting Tofino in a van during the summer just book a campsite even though the cost is very high. Vanlifers are not welcome in Tofino, no matter how tidy and respectful you are. Every logging trail, park, side road, even random spots like cemeteries etc. are closed off with gates and signs, and we've heard from multiple sources that you will absolutely get a $200 ticket if you try to overnight anywhere on the Tofino side of the National Park. Beautiful part of the world but not accessible through unconventional means. Enjoy!

Stayed a couple nights on the FSR just next to this spot.
There’s a big sign saying road closed on the north side of the highway, but the FSR that goes to the south has no signs as had dozens of vehicles parked up each night that we stayed.
Nice and quiet and out of the way, had zero issues

Report Check-In

We’ve been sleeping here 2nights in a row, each time there was maybe 10-15 other cars passing by also looking for a spot to sleep. Last night we went a bit further on the road and at about 11:00 pm there was 2 guys in pick-up truck with there lights on and a stop sign telling us that we couldn’t go further. We went in a spot on the road where there are rock blocking a side road. We parked there and walked a bit pass the rock we were able to put up 2 pretty big tents. It is an active working zone!

Report Check-In

The pull off at the start of the logging road is now blocked off by rocks to stop people from parking there.

Also a line of guards had closed off the road. Not sure if that's just a seasonal thing.

Report Check-In

Massive boulders place at the entrance, road is closed as well. Cant camp here.

Possible to stay on west road heading South East, but very limited space.

Report Check-In

Didn’t park right next to highway cause there was a lot of vans, went up West road a bit and had a lot of spots to park

Report Check-In

A lot of space, not too noisy for a spot that close from the road!

Report Check-In

found a pullout along the logging road for the night. a few others camping too.

Logging road with lots of small pull over spots. It goes quite deep. I went in about 3 km to find my spot. There was a firepit left behind by the last users

Report Check-In

Good spot to stay within reasonable driving distance to Tofino & Ucluelet.

A guy comes around with a truck full of firewood to sell for cash. Nice enough guy.

Report Check-In

Go down the logging road like 200m there are heaps of really good places to spend the night.

Don’t leave a mess.

Get out around 9-10am.

Good size spot - could fit a few campers. There is a cell signal and a fire ring but nothing else. We tried from Tofino to Ucluelet, and found nothing else free. Visitor's Centre in Tofino advised no street parking overnight allowed anywhere and fines were being issued to those who do. Okay for a night here. We were told by others that if you drive down this road, there are spots too but they tend to be partiers. This spot at least has a bit of privacy from the road unlike the next pullout at Lost Shoe Rec area. Road noise was quiet from 10 to 7. NOTE: while we were here someone had gas syphoned from their tank!

Report Check-In

It’s the only spot in Tofino where you won’t get a ticket for staying the night. Stayed a few nights in August 2020 and lots of minivan size vehicules where there, and a few tents as well. People usually arrive after sunset and leave early. The instructions here are to leave the main road clear for passing trucks, to pick up after yourself and to be respectfull of others.
