Description

So rad! A FREE camping area next to the beach with picnic tables and shade-giving trees. Free WiFi nearby provided by ZIi WiFi (if you’re facing the bay, the free WiFi section of the beach is to the right near all the sidewalk Churchill stands). No bathrooms but the restaurants across the street let you use theirs. Also no showers but you have the clean bay waters to take a dip in. Good for big rigs. Other people were camping here so we felt safe. Locals said it was secure.

Parked here ONLY for wifi. Could have pulled out 41’ 22000lb 13m 10,000kg skoolie out and made it on the raised road facing the water. However there are too many cons. First the noise is ungodly loud. J braking on flat roads is not necessary but all the trucks do it. Next is the view. If you like looking at cargo ships and can’t get enough of them you might find your heaven here. However if you’re looking for a view you’ve missed it. Now the water. Only on high tide 9-11am/pm is it swimmable. Otherwise it’s bi directional waves throwing you around. Not relaxing or fun. Wouldn’t recommend this spot unless you need the wifi.

Parked across the street with the trucks overnight. Slept maybe 2-3 hours on and off but uploaded all of our vlog videos. Free!

Report Check-In

We ALMOST stayed here, but luckily our car rental place steered us away saying it wasn't a good idea.

Report Check-In

we didn't stay because the local people were drunk and one of them came to us, he was been looks a good person but we didn't feel safe so we left.
Maybe it will be better in front at the restaurant.

Report Check-In

We camped with a canvas tent on the beach.
Place frequented by locals until sunset and quiet at night (just a little noise from trucks passing on the road).
There is even a guard who stays all night to monitor the equipment (chair and tables).
Superb sunset.

stayed here for 1 night. nice spot along the bach with a view over the harbor. foodtrucks and restaurants nearby. the only thing its alongside the road and A LOT of truck come by at night making lots of noise, so you wont get much sleep staying here!

Arrives there by night in a pourring rain, exhausted by the flight.
A guy went and told us it was ok to camp there, but we had to turn of light at 20:00 because of the police (?!).
Anyway, camping place, enough room for many rigs. Nice beach but the view is a bit bad because of the Harbour close. The road is also close so you hear the trucks brakes.
Free camping, around 1000 colones for toilets and "shower" if the guy it belongs is there.
