Most entrances are blocked off. Soon after I pulled in (around 5 pm) a cop drove through the area and stopped me to let me know camping isn't allowed in the area. I just ended up parking at Walmart for the night instead.
Report Check-InNo block entering from Avalon, little tricky to navigate at night but this is a good spot for seclusion and the brush gives privacy. Lots of scattered trash but alas
Report Check-InRoad is closed to get here but you can drive around the signs and get to the fort road off of Indio pretty easy
Report Check-InNice, oddly located, space. More spaces in the area; road in gets sandier towards the west. Great views to the west. Much quieter than I thought but some far off noise from SR 62; 29 Palms Highway—and coyotes. Construction going on just east of it in the morning.
Report Check-InGreat quiet spot right in town, feels like desert wilderness, great night sleep and no one bothers you. Really convenient how close it is to Walmart too, for the morning or whenever. Would stay here again.
Report Check-InPretty spot but full of homeless people and big trash like old tv’s toilets mattresses etc. I think I saw at least a dozen Walmart shopping carts out there. Bailed on this place within 15 min of arriving, drove all around area, nothing changed. Too bad!
