Street overnight parking on the Cental Plaza in Casas Grande. It is a nice little park in the center of town. The night we stayed there were no events and it was a weeknight so it was quiet. There are a few restaurants within walking distance.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We stayed 2 nights here very quiet and nice people here. Only few minutes of the Paquimé ruins.
Report Check-InParked the Sprinter van on the street for the night. Big festival going on in the park, but no one seemed to care we were there.
Report Check-InWe had a very quiet night parked on the east side of the plaza where it seemed to be more level. Lots of garbage cans and benches all around plus there was a large hand washing station ( no soap). We visited the incredible Paquimé museum $85 pesos per person then had dinner at the only restaurant we could find. It was odd to not see food galore all around the plaza.
There were a number of lonely and friendly stray dogs including a puppy. They weren’t a bother at all. We gave them lots of fresh water and some food.
We did check out the lagoon on the other side of Nuevo Casas Grande but it was a bit dismal out there especially at this time of year ( June) when there was barely any water.
Casas Grandes was a much better choice for us. All the locals were very friendly.
Nice peaceful night. Street is very wide here, plenty of room for big-rigs.
