Description

This is the north gate for Khaudum NP. Road from the north to here is 45km and is pretty rough. The deep sand is not that difficult with deflated tires, but the road is very bumpy and slow going; it took us roughly 3 hours.

Price 40 per person and 10 per car. If you’re staying overnight you pay once, no time mentioned. And you're allowed to drive by yourself, no convoy needed.

Only cash at the moment.

Latest Check-Ins

Nobody at the gate, just a post-it note with a phone number. We called to it; no answer. We drove through to Khaudum Camp. We then paid our park fees at the South gate when exiting the park.

Report Check-In

250 for 2 people and 1 car. we began at 7 am at the south and go out at 5 pm at the north because we stopped a lot to take pictures but also half of the park is with deep sand sections. a lot of elephants, no cars, we loved it !!!

Report Check-In

Terrible roads, game extremely skittish and will run and sight/sound of a motor vehicle. Not all water holes have water at this time of year. very low game density and the roads are hard on your vehicle. it took us 7 hours from Sikereti to Khaudum camp.

Report Check-In

250$ 2 people and a car (foreigner). Loads of elephants and vultures. Deep sand in half the section. Did 5 waterholes in about 6-7 hours and exited north again. Only saw 2 cars the whole day. Animals besides elephants are more skittish than other parks

Bush fires happen every year according to ranger

Lowered pressure to 1.2 and 1.5

Report Check-In

Newly renovated entrance gate to Khaudum National Park. As others have said, the 47km drive down from the main road is sandy and hard going, but was completely manageable with tyres at 1.5bar and 4WD (though possibly helped by recent rains which helped flatten the sand a little!). A good test for some of the sandier sections of the park itself. From the gate, it's a relatively short drive to Khaudum camp. Roads get sandier further south from the camp, but improve towards the lower section of the park. Very friendly welcome! Only 3 cars a week entering here, but as said, it was not difficult, deflate to 1,5 and keep on going. 3 Hrs with some breaks, have not been stuck. Very funny to stop at the village half way, yes they sell some bowls, but all they need is any attention. Stop, smile, talk to them (yes english), give a little something and make lots of funny photos! The officer was extremely helpful. Yes visit Khaudum, no worries!
