Description

Stopped by the police because of exceeding speed limit. However we did drive below the maximum speed of 50km/hr. The police officer wanted to become ‘friends’ and solve this problem together: he said we had to pay Ush200.000 to be able to continue driving. We weren’t drive too fast.

Report Check-In

They are still operating, they said we were doing 57km/h when our gps showed 35km/h. Once we pointed to the dash cam and GPS and said sorry not more than 40, they said we make allowances and carry on.

We met them 2 villages west of the point marked on here, just before Bukinda.

Report Check-In

We got stopped one village to the west. They said we were speeding by going 61km in a 50 zone but we told him no, it was a 80km zone and we slowed down before the 50km and he told us to go.

Report Check-In

They still appear to be active in this area. We got pulled over one village to the west even though I was only doing 40 and had a tour vehicle behind me which they did not pull over. He started on about 50 zone and I informed him I was doing 40 and pointed to gps... he then told us to proceed

Report Check-In

Police was at this exact same spot. They asked me to stop, but I pretended I did not understand and kept driving. I don't like doing that but that was the easiest way to prevent hassles...

We negotiated to pay Ush100.000, but are still very unhappy with the outcome, because we didn’t drive to fast.
