Dispersed camping in the San Juan NF. Lots of sites off the forest roads. Limited cell reception with Sprint, but can send texts. Dogs allowed off-leash.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
beautiful spot just off the road. was able to back my 16 foot overland camper in with no issues.
Report Check-InEast driving getting to plenty of the sites. Really beautiful open area but also lots of trees and cover. Stone pits at sites. Good cell service and LTE for Verizon
Report Check-InEasy road to access multiple sites. Unfortunately, the first few sites when you pull off in the road are homeless camps. Keep driving and you’ll find some nicer spots. We did run into a car camper who would not turn off engine and was sketchy. We moved to a different site.
Report Check-InThere are many spots along Forest Rd 923. Most are mostly flat but you will need a little leveling help. Quiet. Decent intermittent cell service. Easy to find plugging in coordinates (take FR 600/Piedra from Pagosa springs then make two lefts) Spots are limited after the big curve, as we saw a few vehicles pass by our campsite then come back. We camped just before the curve, room for more then one vehicle here.
Report Check-Inlovely forest well taken care of! got some snow this week can't wait for more.
Report Check-InGreat spots. More occupied spots near start of NF road. More secluded spots the further in you go. Road in good shape. We managed well with ProMaster camper van.
