Nicaragua
A really huge parking area with a restaurant where you can sleep securely. After/before the border. Just 30 cordobas with electricity!!!!! Free for tents.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
update on my previous post about the restaurant being closed, my husband was asking if there was anywhere to get a take out meal and the mother came out and said she would cook for us, we had chicken, rice, fried plantain and cheese for 6 with 2 large bottles of coke for $26 USD.
the toilets and showers could do with a really good clean, luckily we have our own.
there were only 2 trucks parked for the night, and one left at 5 am, you can hear the road noise even from by the empty pools
A rather quirky lorry park/restaurant run by a lovely family. we were able to camp right up the back near the swimming pool/swamp which was away from the road noise. The pool as a little green, but it was so hot we didn't care. Had a reasonable dinner & brekkie at affordable price. 40 colones pp to camp.
Report Check-InFor cyclists - perfect spot to camp after the border crossing from Honduras. Wonderfully welcoming family and a nice spot for the tent under a palapa with a hammock. Toilets and showers are rudimentary but better than nothing! Electricity available to charge devices too.
Some noise from the road and the trucks and the roosters. Nothing too bad just don't expect a lie-in!
Report Check-InGood parking to stop after border crossing if it’s too late to go further. Huge parking lot with a restaurant and a pool (didn’t use it). Quite noisy with the truck coming and going but felt really safe.
It was 40c a night (we didn’t eat at the restaurant)

stopped there with my bike, friendly could put my hammock or tent under the roof of the ancien bar. The pool next to it became a swamp. There is no running water, so you need to use a bucket and water from the tank, it's warm thanks to the sun 👌
small bar and restaurant and friendly manager
Drove by and checked it out but there was only one truck, 3 ladies that looked like waiting for “customers”, and super loud music.
Drove another 18km towards Honduras and that place was a much much much better option.
Good place for the night. They have a bar/restaurant. When I stayed here, they just filled a swimming pool. It took them 2 days they told me.
