This is a reasonable size walled camp area with a large gated entrance. Although we didn't stay there we became very friendly with the owner Vicky who would be glad to receive overlanders. It is big rig friendly. There is a restaurant that is being renovated so may be open in the future. The owner has several dogs so it might not be suitable to bring your own dog on site. Discretion should be applied. It is the perfect place for visiting the Archeological site of Huaca del Sol. This premises backs onto one side of it. you can walk to the museum de Luna in 15 mins or pick up a small bus outside the camp for 1 sol each. it is secure and someone will always be on the premises. The owner Vicky is very friendly and part of a large family which has several premises nearby. Cost is 15 Soles per person per night
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed here after we visited Chan Chan and the moon pyramid. Super dusty and lots of hugs, although the owners were so sweet! It’s only a good spot for one night! (The restaurant is closed on Thursday) still S/15 pp!
Paid 5S pppn (I think because we came cycling), we stayed in one tent in their garden during 3 nights. The place is overall good and clean. Vicky, Felipe and the kiddies are nice people, they offered us some drinks and food one night. Shower and WC are good. They have 4 dogs and 2 cats, all very quiet and nice, except at night sometimes they bark along with other neighbouring dogs. Yes they poo in the garden. Do we like that? No we don't. WiFi good but super weak because the signal comes from their house two gardens next to it. Better if you put yourself in the neighboring garden. We could use kitchen to cook and their filter for drinking water. Restaurants nearby and a small shop at 200m.
The place is a restaurant on weekends.
Yes there is a lot of dust but it's ok, you won't die from it.
We would recommend to contact in advance by WhatsApp. The day we arrived Vicky was not in town, but we sent a message a few hours before getting there and she arranged to have the gate opened for us. The next day when she returned, she greeted us very warmly. We enjoyed this spot and spent three nights here. The bathrooms are very clean and the proximity to the pyramids is excellent.
Report Check-InEstuvimos 3 días, un lugar muy bonito con espacio amplio para estacionar motorhome. Vicky y Luis son muy amables y muy dispuestos a ayudarnos a resolver cualquier problema. Muchas gracias por recibirnos
Report Check-InWe arrived at 5pm an were lucky that the restaurant was open.
Vicky and her family are super friendly, the campground is directly next to the ruins- amazing view!
Nice grassy place, small playground for kids, clean bathrooms.
But still no wifi!
Report Check-InStayed one night here and loved it. Thankfully the wind didn’t cover our truck in dust. Facilities were clean, water for shower was hot. Hosts were extremely kind and it was nice to camp on grass. 30SOL/night.
Report Check-In¡Un lugar muy agradable!

Stayed two nights. S/30 per night. The restaurant opened Sunday, so that was a busier day with vehicles parking right next to us. But no big deal and Caspian had kids to play with. No shower, just bathrooms and a water spigot. Swings and teeter-totter. The dust is crazy. I saw it mentioned in previous reviews and thought people were exaggerating. But the dust comes over the walls and settles on everything. After just two nights there, the Jeep and anything left out had a layer of dust on it. Overall, a decent place to stay along this stretch.
Report Check-InTook a while to get in but she came eventually from us phoning. There was no one else here. The lights and the shower weren't working, and there's no wifi. The restaurant was also closed. Just a locked field really.
Report Check-InWe spend 2 nights here. Great location to visit Huacas del sol de Luna. Easy taxi to city as well . Clean and safe. Highly recommended!
Report Check-InWe got there and there were no one at the place, try calling first, maybe that would help.
cuando llegamos no había nadie, trata llamando primero, eso servirá.
Report Check-Inincredibly kind! This spot is very family friendly. The two children, Lucas and Benjamin, are very well behaved, curious. If you have children this is a wonderful spot. They have a lot of dogs. All of them are very friendly and playful too. The family that runs this camping/restaurant are also incredibly kind! We were originally going to stay for only one night, but stayed for three.
Report Check-InAll still as described. 30 soles for 2 people and a van, very clean bathroom, nice staff.
Report Check-InBest place to stay if you visit Trujillo or just pass by. Really nice hosts, Vicky and her family (including the dogs and cats) are just great!
Safe place to stay, not too far to the city (paid 10s to the center with a taxi). Electricity was to far away for us. Toilets and shower (cold) clean, but the car got dusty due to the sandy road aside. However, super place!!!
Large flat ground, very nice family and two very welcoming dogs, hot showers (!!), clean, safe. A bit noisy due to the proximity of the street, but not much traffic during the night.
Report Check-InUnfortunately located on very noisy, pot holed, dirt and dusty road. Shower hot and clean enough when we were here.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for 2 nights. Other than the comment below, its still open and vicky is happy to welcome you. We send here a whatsapp the day before we arrived and she replied friendly and fast (+51 970 816 186). Campground was nice and clean with some friendly dogs. Great bathroom with hot water. And with an extension cord you can use electricity. The restaurant is only open on saturday and sunday. We paid 25 sol per night for the 2 of us. No hight or width restriction.
Report Check-InI tried to check in this place today, but the lady that spoke to me said that the owners weren't there, so I couldn't stay. The place was closed, no restaurant guests at 1pm, despite they advertising on google that they're open from 10am to 3pm. Don't count with this place to camp or park your rig.
Report Check-Ingreat welcome from the whole family, no problem entering with a 24 feet, located at the foot of the Huacas del Sol. city center easily accessible by taxi for 12 soles. Very good food, very friendly atmosphere. we give what we want for the nights. ideal for visiting the area.
Report Check-InVicky and her family is running a house for party’s with a capacity up to 200 people. It is surrounded with a green garden (with playground) and protected by a wall. Although they have 3 dogs, they welcome your dog as well. But be careful with the turkeys.
Report Check-InPerfect place to visit Huaca de Luna. 10-15S with Taxi to Plaza de Armas. Vicky is a very nice owner. Toilet and shower was ok.
Report Check-InVery good place. Grassy, even lot which fits every size rig. Very friendly family. Much recommended.
Report Check-InRun by a nice Peruvian family. Vicky made us most welcome. They have their own dogs and allowed our 2 dogs to stay. Payment is voluntary we gave them 30 soles for one night. We had a hot shower.
Report Check-InBest place to stay around Trujillo!! We were searching for a while and finally found this perfect spot. Very nice and helpful family, enough space for campers, clean toilet and shower. They didn’t ask for any charge, however we gave them 30S per camper. We had a nice meal there too. If you are looking for a place to stay, this is the place to go!
We didn’t ask for electricity (but maybe possible) and wlan also not available, but there are still under construction so maybe in the near future :-)
Very Nice place for visiting tempel de le Luna and the museum. A taxi to Chan Chan was 20 Soles. The familie is very friendly. We stayed 2 days. They made a nice meal for uns 2 days. Breakfast is also possible. Douche is warm.
Report Check-InThe family is very friendly. We celebrated a birthday with them and they cooked for us. The restaurant is open and offers delicious food. Its a safe and nice place for visiting the archaeological site.
