Nice Spots with a bench ans table for an overnight stay. But the most spots are without ocean view. If you drive up the hill, there are great places with ocean view, but also very windy.

Report Check-In

Amazing free campground! Sheltered areas surrounded by trees with fire pit and picnic table, as well as open areas with fantastic elevated views of the ocean. There is no access to the ocean anywhere since you are on high cliffs. There is a washroom and playground close by. Some areas can accommodate larger vehicles. Short hikes to bird colonies and amazing views. We saw whales and seals.

spectaculaire. on est passés en après midi et non pour dormir mais c'est magique. très venteux par contre ;-)

Such a treat of a free campground! Lovely flat sites and even better views. Sadly the two sites that were open had lots of trash and food around that we picked up - please be sure to leave it better than you found it and keep it this lovely! One bar of LTE. Pit toilets. Snagged some bread from the oven in the morning!

Superbe site gratuit! Vue spectaculaire sur le golf St-Laurent, observation de baleines 🐳, de phoques🦭 et d’oiseaux. Au moins 6 sites avec table de pic-nic et espaces sans table. Ça vaut le détour.

This place is OMG, stunningly beautiful!!! The view on top at the parking lot is just out of this world. There's a trail that goes higher to the top but I didn't finish the whole trail. It's just so crazy windy up there, and it's ALWAYS windy. I stayed there for 2 nights, the wind never stopped. Most people parked in the lower area, it's significantly less windy among the bushes, like HUGE different. I can't believe this piece of heaven is free camping, so generous of the town for doing this. In top of that, they even give out free oven baked bread to visitors everyday between 12-2pm during July and August. I was lucky to try the bread on the 2nd day, they finished it quite fast on the 1st day. If you want to try the bread, has to be there at noon, everything is gone by 1pm. What an amazing friendly culture and hospital this town is! If only the world could be like this, no one would be hungry and homeless.

Communities with the type of mentality that encourage visitors and Boondocking as does St. George’s need to be encouraged to keep doing it. This place is awesome; fresh baked goods (wood fired oven) and home made jam Monday to Saturday, July &August is a real treat.

The first loop, overlooking St. George’s Bay can accommodate approximately five rigs of various sizes with great views while the affiliated camp sites, some with fire pits and picnic tables can handle more rigs on the way to the second viewing loop.

Two bars of Roger’s Network available- SkyRoam Solis works well here.

A beautiful spot along the Port au Port Peninsula. Can get quite windy but there are a few spots shielded with trees. Walking distance to Bird Sanctuary and one of the best whale watching spots on the west coast (during the season). Fresh water near the bread oven, and fresh bread in the summer (July & August).
Cell/data is okay here. Decent download but patience required for uploads. :)

By the time we arrived, all the campsites were taken so we parked on the second loop overlooking the sea. Didn't stay at the upper parking lot... pretty windy up there.

What an amazing place! Thanks to the city of Cape St-George to allow passing the night here. View, birds, trails, sound of waves. Wow! Place for several RV’s of all lengths.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay. Quite a few place even with picnic tables and fire pits! cell reception as well.

Spectacular. Full places for any size camper, van. I’ve seen whales. Description below are right.

Agree with the previous reviews. Fantastic well maintained free place to stay. The hike to kittiwake colony along the cliffs edge is absolutely amazing. There were 50mph wind gusts while we were there so we felt uneasy staying in the open areas. Found a site nestled within trees which buffered wind considerably. Site had picnic table and fire pit and path down to cliff’s edge. Bread oven was not yet open but water fill-up was on and trash available. Several other campers and RV’s there during the two nights we stayed.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to camp/boondocks beside the cliff with ocean view. Some site has fire pits ring. But expect high wind sometimes. But the view and short trail walk are worth to go.

Report Check-In

Lots of places to camp. There are spectacular views of limestone cliffs and sunset. It is beautiful! You can still see on the peninsula traces of French people in Newfoundland: names of village or trails.
Note that after Labor Day, potable water access is shut off.

Report Check-In

Free camping with amazing view on the ocean and cliffs. Picnic tables, fire pits. Perfect place to stay in this area. On top of that, the road to get there is pretty scenic too.

Report Check-In

Wonderful free campground. Arrived at 3pm on a Saturday in August and none of the sites were taken yet. We missed the “four a pain” event that occurs every Monday-Saturday in July and August between noon and 2pm.

Report Check-In

Boutte du Cap really nice spot and view . Camping municipal géré par des français parfait pour boondoke

Spectacular free camping in Municipal Park.

Report Check-In

Locally maintained park. Some protected sites, or exposure for the big view. These are the places we love but as usual windy.
