Something not right?

Description

There a couple of large flat pullouts here with nice views and fire rings. They're slightly protected from wind as it is a bit of a canyon but be advised, it can still get super windy. Sites were mostly clean.
There are other campsites higher up on some other roads in this area but the winds were gusting to 50mph+ up there.
Be advised there are oil and gas wells everywhere here. I came here on a Saturday/Sunday and didn't see a single civilian or commercial vehicle.
Good 4G cell service.

Latest Check-Ins

Great dispersed camping! Arrived on a Friday afternoon. No one else here, save for a few employees heading out the road from work. Tons of space, beautiful surroundings, shelter from the wind. Highly recommend! We initially tried the spot further up the road but the road gets pretty gnarly after this spot and we decided to turn around.

This place was interesting. Camped here in a 10 person tent and made it in a RAV4. Dirt roads are maintained because of the small plant in the canyon. There were trucks going in and out of the canyon. We weren’t bothered by anyone and seemed to be the only using it that night. The plant does get kinda loud if sleeping in a tent. There’s a low humming and just about every 45mins- and hour an alarm/warning sound goes off at the plant. One of my companions mentioned a Stranger Things “vibe”. Haha! Good for overnight and maybe tent if you don’t park so close to the plant. Also in the mornings I think the workers check on the sheds along the road between campsites but they didn’t bother us or say anything.

Wild horses! A very private and quiet spot. We didn't see a soul. The roads are bumpy, especially the last 0.4 mile. Big ruts in the road, so RVers, take it very slowly.

Drove up to check out the site but didn’t have any Verizon service so we camped at the site off the byway instead
