This spot is used as a parking lot on weekends but still enough room to park if not there is a similar spot again if you go up the drive way. It is about 100m from the lake. We had a small fire and no one bothered us for the 3 days we were here. Trees block out the wind so probably one of the least windy spots in the town. Also spots to put tents and any size rig can fit
Please bring some food for the dogs if you can, they are all friendly and hungry.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We stayed under the week for 2 days and nights without any problems. The locals are super friendly. The parking lot is paved and relatively leveld.
Bathrooms and small Shops nearby.

Report Check-InParking space is meanwhile paved.
Stayed here for one night and during the day. According to local business woman all parking spaces in Quilotoa are now free of charge.
Good spot to sleep if arrive late to village. Very quiet at night, friendly dogs. In morning we could walk to lake with no tourists around! Toilet beside shop nearby
Report Check-InUnlike the previous comment we found this spot alright. On a Wednesday night we were alone, no trucks nor buses. The area was clean. You can walk to the crater from here. There was almost no one in the little touristy village.
Some dogs coming for some foods and kids happy to talk with you.
The app wouldn't let me add photos so I'll try again. And a bit more info: You can walk around the lake on the mountain ridge for free and bring a pet. For another dollar you can walk all the way down to the lake but pets aren't allowed. The lake is nice but nothing special. The whole as area has a tourist trap feel, although people are very nice. Before we came here we visited the crater lake Cuicocha NP. This lake is just as nice, much nicer hike entrance is free and not a tourist trap.
There is some trash and animal poop around the camp area. Getting the van level was easy. You can't drive any further than the parking lot as the road is blocked
this maybe the best spot in the area, but it is not good at all. Another "social media" photo instead of reality. in reality this spot is a dirt parking lot in the middle of the small town where you are surrounded by vehicles and gravel. So not in nature and no nice view whatsoever. Also as nobody before could be bothered to mention, there's an entrance fee of $2pp. Reasonable cellphone reception with claro and cnt
Report Check-InSlept 4 days. Great place. Súper cold. Ask for bathrooms in antes tienda, the 2usd you pay for entering includes them.
Report Check-InAs stated before, perfect place to spend the night and/or leave your car while visiting the lagoon.
Report Check-Inun lugar muy tranquilo Para pasar la noche, pasamos tres noches en este lugar Gratis.
la gente es muy amable, puedes dejar el carro tranquilo mientras haces el recorrido por Quilotoa
Agreed that this is the best camp spot as it has the best wind protection and a grassy area. You pay the $2 ($3 if your bigger than a normal SUV) to enter the town of Quilotoa and then can camp free. We did the 12k crater rim hike and it was lovely. Took about 4 hours and we went counterclockwise around the lake. I think it's normally hiked clockwise but I preferred doing the harder climbs towards the beginning of the hike. Don't forget to use sunscreen. The sun is intense in Ecuador!
