Gorgeous site by the lake. Nice stone firepit. Too rough a road and too tight turns for any RV or trailers. 2-3 bars of Verizon service. Unfortunately a ton of used toilet tissue found when I was walking in the woods… rather disgusting

This place would have been a 10/10 camp spot if it hadn’t been for the hundreds of yellow jackets that swarmed our truck. We had to eat meals inside because the swarm was so aggressive, and once we came back out to clean the dishes, hundreds of yellow jackets had covered the table, stove, and cook drawer. We left earlier than we were planning to because of how bad the bees were.
There are tons of spots on this road through so maybe other places aren’t so badly hit.
Also maybe it’ll be cold enough soon here and the bees will die off. Either way it’s a beautiful spot I just wish the damn bees weren’t so bad.
Beautiful area, serene and quiet. Rough road coming in, very narrow with few turn around. Doable in 2 wheel drive Promaster Van. Lots of bugs, best to keep vehicle shut up or flying bugs will be everywhere! Would come again.
Report Check-InLots of amazing spots to park. Definitely gun shots and four wheelers buzzing around all day.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot on lake- best spot taken- still lovely, quiet, birds, and the sweet lake, and a feisty rather habituated chipmunk😜
Report Check-InSpacious campsite, wonderful view. Perfect quiet family spot for kids and dog. One of our favorite spots!
Report Check-InThis place is beautiful and very clean. Tons of places to set up camps throughout the whole park area. This spot in particular is great for a few vehicles to set up as a group. Signs posted to keep fires in designated rings and practice leave no trace so please follow guidance so we can continue to enjoy.
Report Check-InWorst boondocking road and campsite we’ve had in 3 months of full time VanLife. The 3ish miles off the highway don’t even lead you to a lake so I don’t know what the other reviews are talking about - the cords must be wrong. We were thankful to have no sliced a tire with how many boulders were on the gravel road. Plus mud!! Our campsite was so full of mosquitos, not even campfire smoke could keep them away
Report Check-InGreat place to spent time! Awesome views, quiet and remote.
There’s phone reception, fire pits and place to swim.
Drive slow with the rocks on the road, I bended a rim hitting a rock a few meters from the entrance
Report Check-InAll the lake spots seemed to be taken when we got out here in early afternoon on a Friday so we stayed at a pullout near the lake.
We had no trouble getting out to the area in a converted promaster FWD cargo van. Some slight clearance was needed for parts but the road is just bumpy and a little washed out at points. We saw some large trailers and even an RV setup in spots so I think slow and steady most could make it.
Report Check-Inlakefront view. Accessed with 4wd lexus/toyota and a pop up camper. teardrops and atv tows make it back here. Can get windy but totally worth it. quite possibly the best lakefront boondock option in the sisters area.
